As always , VAR came into play at FIFA's convenience. Egypt's second goal was ruled out bcoz their defender committed a foul. Fair enough. But when Argentina's defender did the same by bringing down Saleh in the box, VAR didn't intervene, even though it was a clear penalty for Egypt. Instead, the referee allowed play to continue, and Argentina went on to score the third goal.
