The plus for Cocktail 2 is the music and it has one of the handful of genuinely popular actresses with Kriti Sanon. The heroine is so important for the genre and more so today as it has a limited audience. If the leading lady is not one of popular ones then you can almost right off a film in this genre today. The ones which have managed to do some numbers post pandemic would have had a popular actress.

The biggest film in the genre post pandemic remains Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar which did 130 crore nett apprx and Cocktail 2 will find it hard to challenge this number but if it can get to 100 crore nett it would be good result all round.

I think Kriti is undisputed number one if this one works!

Like i wrote today,People will go to see Kriti,if nothing else.

I wrote that public went to the see Tere Isha mein for Kriti. Replace her with someone else opposite Dhanush,it wouldn't have worked. A man can go to any lengths for a woman like Kriti.She makes it believable.

Never mind,if the film is a hit or flop. Kriti will always be most wanted for any hero. Unfortunately in Patriarchal BW-Male superstars make careers of heroines.

The way Kriti portrays independent woman characters is very recommendable... she has found a good balance between their characters played in movies and her demeanour vis-à-vis the filmindustry.

I just wrote a post about Kangana in another thread. Contrary to Kangana's more radical rebellion, Kriti represents a practical (and practicable) female autonomy, imo. Kriti living a non-submissive attitude behind the camera too, makes her portrays even more believable...and she doesn't fight against the filmindustry but uses it for her own independence.

As I'm not in number games, I just am happy that the women-on-the-top in the Hindi filmindustry (Kriti, Alia, Deepika, as to me) are determined to play non-submissive roles (in leads and cameos).

There had been 'woman-power' in Hindi Cinema throughout the decades... in different shapes and differently supported...it isn't important to me to look at numbers like in the Olympic Games...

Dang...BOI acknowledgment for Kriti...They rarely praise heroines and their box office pull.

They only count kareena, Rani and Alia as stars who can bring in crowd and numbers. Kriti is the 4th one to join their list
