As if Simpnuj's rushed decision to marry Upmaa was not enough, he also rushed into adopting Choti Anu. I do not blame him for adopting her, but I do question whether he fully understood what kind of environment he was bringing her into. An adopted child deserves parents who consistently put her first, not parents who treat her needs as optional whenever another family crisis appears.

Unfortunately, Choti Anu repeatedly found herself pushed to the sidelines.

a. The Dance Competition

It was only a few days before what was supposed to be one of the most important days of Choti Anu's childhood—her school dance competition.

She was excited. She wanted her mother's support. She wanted her special moment.

But what did Upmaa do?

Instead of focusing on her daughter, she once again made everything about her lectures and moral speeches. Rather than allowing Choti Anu to enjoy her achievement, she turned the occasion into another lesson about sacrifice and celebrating other people's victories.

She found time to prepare khichdi for Jhuli Mawali—the same woman who had insulted, humiliated, and cursed her countless times.

The message was crystal clear: everyone else's problems came before Choti Anu.

b. Pari's Illness and the Shah Family's Stay

When a child falls ill, responsible families consult doctors and follow medical advice.

The TamaShahs, however, behaved as if Upmaa possessed magical healing powers. Once again, they summoned her for Precious Pari's illness. As if that was not enough, the Shameless Shahs practically moved into Kapadia House because their palace was under renovation.

That night, Choti Anu woke up crying for her mother.

The tragedy was not that she cried.

The tragedy was that she had already learned that her mother would always be available for the Shah family before she was available for her own daughter.

c. Doshu's Stroke

When Doshu suffered a paralytic stroke, Rakhi Dave offered the most sensible solution—hire a male nurse.

Problem solved.

But practical solutions do not create drama.

Instead, Jhuli Mawali emotionally manipulated Upmaa in the middle of the night, and Upmaa once again rushed to rescue the Shah family.

And as always, Choti Anu was expected to understand, adjust, sacrifice, and stay silent.

It became a pattern.

Every time the Shah family had a problem, Choti Anu paid the price.

d. The Birthday Cake for Precious Pari

By now, Choti Anu was already feeling neglected and insecure.

Any parent paying attention would have noticed it.

But Upmaa chose to bake a birthday cake for Precious Pari and personally deliver it to Kachrakunj.

The result?

She was humiliated and thrown out by the very people she keeps prioritizing over her own family.

Ironically, she had enough energy to repeatedly chase the approval of people who disrespected her, but not enough consistency to reassure the daughter who loved her.

Upmaa could tolerate endless insults, taunts, humiliation, and disrespect from her beloved "Bacho Ke Ache Pita" and Jhuli Mawali.

But the moment Simpnuj questioned her priorities, she reacted as if she were the victim.

Instead of reflecting on her choices, she tore apart the family photograph and walked away from the very family she had promised to protect.

That moment exposed the biggest problem with her character.

The Shah family was never her responsibility.

It was her obsession.

Again and again, she chose their drama over her own home, their crises over her daughter's happiness, and their approval over her husband's concerns.

Earlier, I sympathized with Upmaa when #VanYa was exposed.

But as the story progressed, that sympathy disappeared.

A person can make mistakes.

A person can have divided priorities.

But when the same choice is made repeatedly despite repeated consequences, it stops looking like a mistake and starts looking like a preference.

And throughout this entire journey, the person who suffered the most was Choti Anu.

Psycho Khyati suddenly turning into an Upmaa bhakt is one of the most unbelievable twists in the story. Where was this love and concern for Upmaa when she held her responsible for Aryan's death? Where was this sympathy when she looked her in the eye and said, "Kaisi maa ho tum jo apni beti ka suhag ujaad diya. Tum katil ho, Anupama"? Where did all this affection disappear when she poisoned Upmaa's eye drops and left her blind just before the final round of the "Taal Se Taal" grand finale? Back then, she showed no mercy, no concern, and no regret. But now, suddenly, she is shedding tears for Upmaa and her pet dog Diggy. The transformation is not emotional; it is simply impossible to take seriously.

What is even more shocking is that Vasundhara still has not thrown Psycho Khyati and Anil out of Kothari House. After everything they have done, they continue to stay there as if nothing happened. One of the rare moments that actually made sense was when Phaltu Prem told Anil to stay out of a personal matter concerning him and Choti Upmaa. It was long overdue.

And now comes the biggest joke of all. Who appointed Upmaa, the creator of the legendary "Undhiyo Cockroach Biryani," as a food inspector? On what qualifications was this decision made? A woman whose own food venture became a symbol of negligence is suddenly trusted to judge whether others meet food safety standards. The irony practically writes itself.

Since the case involved her own son-in-law, she could have stepped aside and allowed someone neutral to handle it. But neutrality and Upmaa rarely exist in the same sentence. If Doshu had opened a café with gas leaks, missing expiry dates, and basic safety violations, Upmaa would have found a hundred excuses to protect him. Rules become flexible when family is involved, especially when it is her family.

And if Phaltu Prem and Choti Upmaa's marriage eventually collapses, Upmaa's constant interference will be impossible to ignore. Every time she inserts herself into situations that do not concern her, she creates more damage than solutions. Then she acts surprised when relationships start falling apart around her.

If Upmaa was a victim in her marriage to her so-called "Bacho Ke Ache Pita," then she became the female version of him in her marriage to Simpnuj. The difference is that she spent years criticizing the very behaviour she later repeated herself. In the end, the man she constantly blamed turned out to understand the fate of #ApMaAn better than anyone else. His prediction about the marriage breaking down was proven right, while Upmaa's endless speeches about love, sacrifice, and relationships collapsed under the weight of her own actions.

Is Anupamaa going to forgive Prem it will look sarcastic, full of hypocrisy
