A very successful movie which got into the focus of the 'new narrative' because of a certain plot-part:

In an attempt to de-escalate tensions between India and Pakistan, India wants to launch a Pakistan prisoners release program (hoping that Pakistan will reciprocate). That irks a former Indian special forces soldier (discharged for having executed Pakistani citizens in a personal revenge act) who has created a private militant group...he strongly is against peace between the two rival countries.

As the movie is a SRK-production, the 'new narrative' - of course - takes this movie (among others) to justify whatever negativity is propagated about SRK (e.g. labelling him as not patriotic).

In our family and among my Indian friends, this movie is still loved very much

The kids in the family love all 3 of the Farah-SRK movies likewise... they find that they are very different but all three entertaining even when they watch them multiple times.

Sushmita was something else in the film
