Film can earn 2000 cr as if anyone cares. What actually is the matter that Film D2 hasn't got the appreciation/love universally which films like Dangal, 3 Idiots, Bajrangi Bhaijaan or even yesteryear films like Mother India, Mughal-e-azam & Sholay received all Over.

First bw film to sell 16M+ tickets on BMS, broke overseas records, did $43M+ in just 20 days overseas without a Gulf release but yeah, ‘not loved enough’ lol. No film is universally loved even the classics you mentioned had criticism. Bahubali 2 = 5.4 Crore Footfalls = Collection = 510 Cr

Now you can see how much inflated TICKET Rates are, but audience isn't matching the mighty Bahubali 2. It might touch 4 cr footfalls at best in it's run, but won't be able to match Bahubali 2, Gadar, HAHK kind of Mega Blockbusters.

Dhurandhar 2 is aiming 1000 cr Nett which is almost double of Bahubali 2, but won't be able to touch 5 Cr footfalls which proves that HIGH Numbers came from Inflation & if it would have Universal Appreciation, then Footfalls would also have doubled.

Uchhal Uchhal ke bas Numbers, figures utha ke mat dikhao, talk to me when any Ranveer, Ranbir or Vicky's film actually touch 5 cr footfalls.

Comparing footfalls across different eras like it’s a fair 1:1 is already flawed. Ticket pricing, screen count, population reach, and viewing habits have all changed massively since Baahubali

Also, higher ticket prices don’t magically guarantee higher collections footfalls still matter, and 4 cr people showing up today, in the OTT era, is huge in itself

And if ‘universal appreciation = footfalls doubling’, then by that logic even many big blockbusters post-2010 aren’t “universally loved” either

At the end of the day, you’re still proving the film has massive reach just trying hard to downplay it because it didn’t match a once-in-a-generation benchmark. Not every blockbuster needs to replicate Baahubali or Gadar to be huge
