i think he had 9 hits in 1973 or 75 read in a news report

i think loafer, and yadoon ki baa art were two mivies that i remember from 9 list that year

and another year he had 6 hits again in 70s only not sure must be 77, 78 when chupke chupke or something like that released

70s was the time to be a bollywood hero

rajesh khanna, dharmendra, amitabh had all many hits a year in late 60s and 70s

dharamji had 10 movies in 1987 out of which 7 become hit with 2 block buster 2 super hits rest all hits 3 were average or flop

what a record after working from 1956 after after 31 years a hero gives 7 hits a year is phenomenal that too as lead actor in most of those movies. In most he was the main hero in 1987(like SRK, salman now)

even 1965, 67,68, 69 etc dharmendra had 5 plus hit movies a year even in 70s many years he had 4 to 5 hits most years

and this was when rajesh khanna and amitabh were at peak super stars

rajesh khanna started peaking in 1969 with aradhana and went on to be a hit till 1990 with swarg as hero

amitabh started hit in 1973 with zanjeer and hit as hero was 1991 khudha gawa

only other actor who gave hits as hero so many years was dilip kumar from 1946 to 1982 shakti(lead role) mashal, karma, saudagar etc came much later(but i will consider that as side roles shakti as main role(although amitabh was there)

indeed dilip kumar won film fare best actor for shakti and amitabh was side hero there as story was of him

in saudagar and mashaal and karma etc he was again best actor film fare nomination as he was main lead (all mid 80s and early 90s movies) but i think his last hero as proper man lead was shakti in 1982 although mahaal, saudagar, karma all ran because of him as main lead role and he got nominations for best actor lead not supporting lead

Imagine getting nominated at almost 70 as best actor lead (saudagar at 69 nominated as lead)

amitabh got nominated for black and paa in late 60s too for best actor

even second rung actors like shahsi kaoor, rishi would have 5 to 6 hits a year but as second leads mostly in 70s and early 80s
