Wasn't it on the premises of a hotel? Couldn't one ensure with respective security measures that no one from the press or similar could come near to the prayer meet? (I suppose, the Deol's also have the money to pay for tight security.) One also can put an official announcement that no photos are allowed during the prayer meet.

Unfortunately, times have changed in a way that certain values - respecting someones privacy, e.g. - have gone to the wall (bankrupt)...

Yes, I do know that, but it didn't seem to be like that in the scene one could watch...and the one photo I constantly came across had been shot with a telephoto lens. Privately done photos generally only get "leaked" if the one who took it is okay with that - so equally not respecting that privacy anymore

Well, maybe the Deols didn't asked for privacy clearly enough beforehand...

The family was aware that Dharmendra was dying and that he wanted to die at home... I don't buy this 'news' about Hema and both the daughters hadn't/weren't given the possibility to say good bye to him albeit they may not have been present when the ventilator support got stopped as he was in the Deol house.

I side with those who state that one shouldn't reproach anything to anyone from both the families he had created during his life.
