Let’s be honest. Satam sir is 75 yrs old now. It’s not fair to expect him to be the same ACP Pradyuman he once was.

Even Aditya sir and Daya sir have grown older so they can’t be the way they were 10 yrs back.

It will be a sweet memory to keep watching the old episodes on YouTube but as far as 3.0 goes I doubt it will come and the story ends now.

Well, in my view, it's kind of 2 part.

First we've changed. We've grown, matured, changed, evolved (blah blah blah whatever term you want to use) as people. Our preferences, habits, thought process, worldview, etc. has changed since we were kids or teens.

Times have changed as well. What worked in the 90s or 2000s is not going to work today. Think about something like comedy. We went from situational humour from the 70s to cross dressing and double meaning dialogues in the 80s to Govinda-style humour which was a mix of stuff in the 90s to situational again in the 2000s to crass sexual innuendo in the 2010s. Things change.

Now what has happened is that CID2 started with the OG S1 style CID. Good choice. It pulled OG fans who wanted that nostalgia trip. Then they tried to tackle a storyline that didn't finish in S1 and bungled it up. After that they decided to continue the nostalgia trip. But the thing about a nostalgia trip is that it only works for a short period. Just because I saw a Govinda song on screen one day and watched a movie of his doesn't mean that I'm going to watch only his movies from now on. Or just because I heard a song from Jannat, it doesn't mean that my playlist is going to be exclusively dedicated to Emraan from now on.

But CID2 PH didn't think this through like we are. They stayed on the nostalgia trip. Yes they brought some current crimes and situations, but they tried to fit it into the CID season 1 style of writing, storytelling, etc.

And let's be honest. The way they dealt with the Eye Gang, ACP Pradyuman death, ACP Ayushmann coming in - that whole situation put a whole lot of OG fans off. I barely watched CID2 after that mess because it pissed me off so much. The channel and PH really messed that situation up when they didn't realize how big the OG fanbase really is and that Parth fans aren't just going to jump onto a new show because he's in it. They have to be pulled in with the story and his character as well. The PH didn't even know how to deal with ACP Ayushmann's character! First he was this rude, arrogant ACP and then suddenly he's showing so much care for the team.

Yes. It didn't have the warmth of original CID. Particularly due to the shooting style and lighting etc.

Old CID used to have natural lighting. And it used to be in 4:3 Aspect ratio (Because we had square TV screens).

Also, the bonding between the characters felt very natural. Unlike in the recent episodes. Idk why.

Also the bureau doesn't have warmth. The old bureaus used to feel like home 😍 (Especially the 2 bureaus during Muskan Era and Tasha Era)

Can't explain it, but there's something missing.

Season three ka lollipop... Haah. S2 wapas laane mein 6 saal lag gaye in logon ko. Season three kya hi layenge.

Why is it that every time some drama happens, it is CID that end up in the middle of the storm? Last time bhi aise hi pehle time change kiya and then the show itself went off air abruptly. Same thing is happening all over again... I'm tired of all this.

@ Bold: Oh 100%. They gave us S2 lollipop when S1 ended and then that weird CIF came out on Dangal TV for like 20 episodes. S3 bhi lollipop hi hai.

@ Red: I'm thankful that at least this time they didn't play with the timings of CID or just not air an episode some weeks or tell us the day before that the show is going off air. Hopefully CVs give us a proper send-off.
