This is made by singer Chinmayee s husband. She interviewed the cast, she also asked the same question. Is it male version of Arjun Reddy? Think it was a fan question.

I haven't seen the movie u mentioned about, or Kabir singh, or Animal, I stay away from Toxic relationship movies, which normalize abuse/stalking/harassment as lobe.

I speak Telugu, if it is like that, why not? If people are hailing cringe toxicity as love, they need to show how it affects the partner, that you're harassing. I hope it gives some hope for the generation to understand how unhealthy and healthy relations, toxicity looks like, and it shouldn't be hailed as aww that's great lobe.

I hope she finds the strength and courage to move on and away from this madness.

Like you, I didn't watch either Kabir Singh nor Animal, but I like to watch debut movies of directors who are talked about or who interest me. Generally, a debut movie says a lot about the director as a person.

A well narrated story about a character, a relationship, an incident etc. will have as much my interest in reading than in watching. Arjun Ready is a well crafted movie about a certain kind of character but the way it is narrated shows the affection, the director has for the character, so I didn't need to watch the Hindi remake or his next outing.

The Girlfriend's trailer (and the teaser on IMDb) already tells me about the way the female lead will have to use her inner strength to survive the seemingly pathological nature of the male lead's view on love.
