So here we are – the “mahaan” Upmaa, strutting around after bagging the grand finale of “Taal Se Taal” – not by talent, but thanks to Raahi’s charity. Yet madam has the audacity to throw arrogance around as if she earned that trophy on merit. Classic Upmaa – failing miserably but pretending she’s achieved greatness. And of course, her permanent spokesperson DeviLka is ready with excuses, polishing Upmaa’s image no matter how many blunders pile up.
At Kachrakunj, we got to see another round of nautanki – the great “cutting ties” act with her nikamma beta, Doshu. The same Doshu she coddled and spoiled rotten for years. She drowned him in blind love but never once drew boundaries. If Vanar groomed Doshu into becoming Vanar 2.0, Upmaa was his equal partner in crime – endlessly forgiving, endlessly covering up, endlessly enabling. Accountability? Zero.
And what did Doshu learn growing up watching this mahaan devi? That his mother was only fit for the kitchen. Because Upmaa herself locked herself there and wore “sacrifice” like a badge of honor. She single-handedly taught her son to look down on her. Doshu didn’t become ashamed of his mother by accident – Upmaa drilled it into him through years of her submissive, spineless, martyr act.
So yes, congratulations, Upmaa. You didn’t just ruin your own life, you ruined your son’s too – while still playing the victim card and expecting applause.
