Yes, NCW took suo moto cognizance. And, it has nothing to do with "all Indians" at all? India along with US has the biggest internet user base given we are the largest population in the world. Cyberbullying has been academically and statistically found higher in both these user bases. A simple google scholar search would give you 15 different peer-reviewed articles.
That said, Virat (and Dhoni) are the biggest, most recognised, rich celebs in the country (no other career makes you as recognisable as a team sport fandom all over the world). Is it the strangest thing if one or both of them are hyper wary of their kids' safety? I'd be if I was instantly recognised by 1.6 billion people who feel emotionally invested in my career enough to feel entitled to my personal space 24/7. Didn't Aish-Abhi sue some creepy youtubers who were speculating on Aradhya's health and looks?
People should be anyhow wary of putting the pictures of children online with AI and whatever crimes that happen online all over the world irrespective of fame or popularity. Any decent parent would. It's not that deep tbh.
