Few moments with Anupamaa and now every woman under the sun thinks she is a victim. How fair it is to blame the entire world for the initiatives you didn't take to do something for yourself in life ? Initially Anupamaa was genuinely a victim. She was actually not allowed to study and had to drop out. She could never learn the ways of the world. Books and knowledge didn't expand her thinking before she was pushed into a household where she was constantly criticised, her husband and her MIL broke her self esteem and self confidence. Not only she was told repeatedly that she was good for nothing, her household work also didn't carry any value. Neither she could accumulate tools like education to break free nor she could gain confidence about her place in the house as a homemaker. Seeing all this her children grew up to be thankless idiots who never became independent and became parasites who only knew to insult her mother and marry for financial gains. What Anupamaa did later on when the opportunities presented themselves and that Anupamaa herself on her own merit proved that she was capable of doing nothing in life even with all the support and resources is a different thing altogether.

Coming to Khyati, Meera (hope the name is right ) and Prarthana. Khyati's parents educated her, her parents dreamt of a future for her. She didn't do anything for herself and her parents dreams and breaks all the theekra one fine day on Vasundhara's head.

Meera was MBA. By he own admission she could have joined her father's business. Chooses not to, does nothing about it, never mentions it and again one day gangs up with Anupamaa and Khyati against her own family. Aapke papa ne kaha jo karna hai sasural jaakar karna, Vasundhara ne kaha Kothari khandaan ki bahu kaam nahi karti, yeh baatein shaadi se pehle discuss nahi ki aur aapne kya kaha, kya kiya ?? Kuch nahi ?? Muh latka ke baat maan li. Indeed the father should not have educated you. What's the point ?

What good is Prarthana when after having a kamaal ka business sense she is suffering abuse. Kamaal ka business sense has to be applied and used.

I am not saying Vasundhara might not have had rigid opinions. But despite being educated, having sense of right and wrong, knowing about their priorities, they enter into a marriage, never discuss with their husbands what they want in life. Their husbands stood there shell shocked. One day suddenly, just after listening to one Anuapamaa's bhashan they find strength to just stand up for themselves and tell their family,that was so far taking care of their needs well, that they are all not happy with them. That whatever they have done for them so far was not enough. One fine day all of a sudden, in front of everyone, their children, their families and husbands come to know that they were suffocating. How fair is that ? Vanraj was a different kind of a husband. Anuapamaa's voice didn't matter at all in front of him. Even after the marriage broke off, his influence remained hell strong on her.. He shouted on Anuapamaa to make his point. Have Parag, Meera's husband meted out the same behavior towards them? My only problem is that you don't ever speak up about what you want in life, give up on you dreams and ur parents' dreams for a comfortable life with servants, don't talk about it or try to consistently push for what you desire, never once show that your goals are important enough for you and then achanak aapko yaad aata hai ki aapke saath galat hua hai.. Anupamaa was beaten down constantly. But giving up on the will to even talk about your desires trying to avoid conflict is cowardice. What would Vasundhara have done if Khayti one day said that she wants to make food of her own choice? Behas ho jati ? Fine yaar. At least the boundaries would have become clear. They can't even persist for such a small thing in life and think they can survive the outside world with this kind of attitude. What would have happened if Meera had said she wants to help her father in business ? Vasundhara ghar se nikal deti kya ? Kum se kum bolo toh sahi aap chahte kya ho ? You don't speak up, settle down taking an easy way out and then you think u are in a golden cage.

Even these two Rahi and Prem, given the history yeh dono bhi laut ke usi ghar mein, usi business mein wapas aayenge.

Anupamaa ka kya hai, she thinks she is a victim in every situation. Today also while talking about Orat's plight she was looking at Baa reminiscing of her old days when Baa used to treat her with love. She was a victim back then. But now she worships her. Goes mad if she can't be found at home. Will beg in front of her to stay close. After her second marriage when she went to SH for pag phera and Baa didn't allow her to make chai because she wanted the Shah House to adjust without her doing the daily chores, she went to Anuj and cried, because she was not allowed to give her services. She was a victim when Baa, Vanraj and her children actually troubled her, took advantage of her, abused her. She is also a victim if someone asks her to stay away from that toxic household. Such a person is an atyachaari and asking her to stay away from her "apne".. Aisa insaan kuch nahi kar sakta.. Bad example to follow and gang up with. Or gang up karna tha to yeh kaam toh pehle bhi kar sakte the.. Khyati, Meera and Prarthana could have ganged up. Why need Anupamaa for that ?

Chalein yeh to ek faltu seriel hai, but for the sake of discussion, I want to say one thing. It STILL does happen in our society that wonen are unable go raise their voices despite being well educated and independant. Reason being the mindset, the deep mindset k ab bus ghar bachana hai. And this is a reality. Phir wo gubaar kabhi na kabhi nikalta hai, it does require a stimulus. To esa hota hai, it is relatable.

P.S. mein is seriel ki baat bilkul nhn kar rhi, usmein we are on same page.

I don't deny that. However, in my experience people should also demand what they truly desire. Agar aap chup kar k baith jaoge toh your silence will be taken as compliance and when one day suddenly outburst happens you will be the one blamed for everything. Yeh to serial hai isliye dikha diya ki Meera k husband ne sabke saamne maafi maang li. Asal zindagi mein response aisa bhi aata hai.. Humne toh tumhare liye sab kuch kiya, hume kaun sa tumhe kabhi roka tha, tumne kabhi bataya hi nahi... Like what Parag said today - Humne toh aapko Rani ki tarah rakha...Why give anyone such a chance ? They would genuinely end up thinking that after doing everything, you do not respect them and to an extent it would be understandable, if not completely.

Also talking a lil bit about stories as well, - in storytelling while the writers build a narrative that a woman was not given enough chances, I think its important to give that woman enough potential, zeal and show her efforts to become what she wants. It can't be that a woman blames others for not being able to achieve anything in life but at the same time a real endeavor, that thirst is missing. Families kayi baar mushkil paida karti hain, lekin kayi baar families apna stand kisi ki khushi ke liye badalti bhi hain.. Aur yeh bhi zaroori nahi ki har homemaker ko dabaya hi gaya ho.. All types of examples exist and there can be a variety. Also I think in a story while talking about problems that women face, it is also important to create positive examples - like women actually achieving something even against all problems, families playing a positive role in each others lives in various ways even after differences. After all pen has the power to not only write about problems, but also examples and solutions.

Story telling wali baat pe I agree 100%. Pen has the true power, and I truly wish that we create characters that remain in examples for years. Isi anupam ki 45 mein shaadi karne pe I am sure, kahin kisi ghar mein kisi or k ly bhi asaani hui hogi apni zindagi barhane k ly. Saalon se movies mein widows ki shaadi pe aitraaz khatam hua, sati k baar meim awareness hui tabhi aaj kisi bache ko b in baaton pe issues nhn hai. To agar yeh log aaj e empowered in true sense aurton ko dikhayengen, to aage wali generations b seekhengin, par ab esa kon e kare.

Or jo aapki pehli baat thi, I agree k bolna chahye but that is what I was saying k bht si aurton mein wo himmat b nhn hoti k wo bol sakein ya apni baat rakh sakein.
