Why are Shahid's best works only when he acts deranged and super aggressive - Udta Punjab, Haider, Kabir Singh, and now this (I think)?

I miss the chocolate hero wale movies of his like Ishq Vishk, Dil Maange More, and Vivah. smiley42

It seems that the current flavour is for 'hard guys', not soft or funny ones...and also not for elaborated characters, but I'll welcome exceptions smiley2 (again my hope lies on SRK and his 'King'-character...and maybe Shahid's Dev...).
