Reflections & ambitions: Divyanka, Vivek look ahead at 2025

As the year ended, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya and Vivek Dahiya flew down to Chandigarh to straddle the midnight between the two years with Vivek’s parents. From reflecting on 2024 the couple chalked their ambitions for 2025 in conversation with us.

Personal challenges and triumphs in 2024.

Divyanka: 2024 taught me patience. The two surgeries I underwent, including ligament repairs, posed both physical and emotional challenges for me. Yet, I managed to bounce back with two successful web shows, Adrishyam – The Invisible Heroes and The Magic Of Shiri. It’s about waiting for the right kind of universal support and star alignment.

Vivek: Participating in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, was challenging for me since dance is a different ballgame altogether. But earning a perfect score was an achievement I will remember as a career highlight. My OTT film Chal Zindagi was finally released and I also ventured into YouTube with travel and lifestyle vlogs.

The couple also unanimously list the incident in Italy where they were robbed of prized possessions weighing 45 kg, as a profound life lesson in “letting go.” They say, it brought out their mutual support which helped them emerge stronger in overcoming adversity together.

Goals and vision for 2025

Vivek: I like to make small, achievable goals for the next quarter rather than the whole year. I maintain a journal and list things I want to achieve. I still have some unaccomplished career goals from last year, which I would like to finish this year including some fitness portions that I want to still tap into. And together we agree on creating our own content as a mutual professional goal for this year.

Divyanka: We understand the business, and we hope to create meaningful content. What had held us back previously was the uncertainty our industry has been going through of late. The market has been turbulent, and insecurity can creep in. Also, unfortunately film/content makers don’t look beyond a set of certain artistes they work with want to keep repeating them in every project. It’s sad that when an actor takes an extreme step like ending their life, everyone comes around saying, ‘Oh, we weren’t aware he/she was going through depression’. That’s not true because everyone knows what’s going on with others. Anyways, it’s time to move past that and take action.
