The Intimacy Scene: A Missed Opportunity

Let me start by saying, I Bhagya Lakshmi—but this is not the kind of show you can watch daily. Watching it daily is like stepping into a tornado of OTT drama, bad decisions, and Malishka’s endless tantrums. Skipping months of episodes and binge-watching is the only way to survive it.

This month, I tuned back in because I heard that Rishi and Lakshmi finally got close. Naturally, I had to see it. But here’s my issue: why does this creator always make intimacy happen under the influence of drugs or alcohol? It feels so cheap and ingenuine. It’s like the writers are afraid to show the man desiring the woman without some external push. Why can’t Rishi be fully present and aware of his feelings for Lakshmi? It undermines the emotional connection and makes these moments feel like accidents instead of meaningful.

Also, is it me, or does it seem that the writers are stuck on repeat? How many times will Malishka drug Rishi and pretend they were intimate? And how many times will Rishi fall for it? The lack of originality is disappointing. It’s like they’re recycling plots hoping we won’t notice. Spoiler alert: we do.

Let’s talk about the most shocking moment of the year: Lakshmi and Rishi getting intimate during an anniversary party. At someone else’s house. In Malishka’s bed. Let that sink in. That’s next-level queen behavior from Lakshmi! It was a bold move and could’ve been a game-changer for the story. But the writers completely wasted the potential of this scene.

First of all, Lakshmi running away thinking Rishi went straight from her bed to Malishka’s is ridiculous. What man goes from one bed in the house to the next in the same night? If this was truly Rishi’s character, couldn’t he have done this weeks or months ago at his own home?

And let’s not forget: Lakshmi knows Malishka’s character! Malishka has been scheming and manipulating from day one. Why wouldn’t Lakshmi stop and think, “Hmm, maybe this is another one of Malishka’s stunts”? Instead, she runs off, believing the worst without even questioning the situation. It’s time for Lakshmi to stop being so naive and start connecting the dots. Lakshmi no longer needs to play fair—she needs to fight smarter. Lakshmi's character deserves more iconic moments—preferably ones that don’t get overshadowed by Malishka’s drama.

The writers missed a huge opportunity here. Imagine if the family had found Rishi and Lakshmi together instead of Malishka. That would’ve been chaos! It would have made the story so much more dramatic. Lakshmi could’ve also had her own struggles after this. Maybe she tries to hide what happened, fearing what others will think. Or she wakes up and finds Malishka already plotting against her. This scene was so out of character for Lakshmi—it was a chance to explore a different side of her personality. Instead, the writers skipped over it and took the easy route, letting Malishka pull yet another trick and “win” the situation.

And speaking of missed opportunities, Malishka’s reaction to walking in on Rishi and Lakshmi wasn’t explosive enough. Let’s be real—there’s no way Malishka, the queen of theatrics, should have calmly regained her composure after seeing them undressed and wrapped in each other’s arms in her bed. That moment should have been the highlight of the drama, but instead, it felt rushed and unimportant.

This serial keeps falling into the same tired patterns. The writers need to take risks and capitalize on moments like the intimacy scene to shake things up. Until then, I’ll keep binge-watching when I feel like it—and rolling my eyes every time Lakshmi runs and Rishi plays clueless.

BTW... every December/January, Malishka does something to cause Rishi to screw up his relationship with Lakshmi. This serial is so predictable at this point and none of this came at a surprise.

Are they going to take the typical route now - vamps pregnancy. She trying to make Rishi bow to her demands. Goes crazy on PDA. Then her secret is threatened because Ballu decides to blackmail. Jeez.

have they discovered that rohan is their son? i feel bad for the kid that he's still living as an adopted child in his own house like intimacy scene was less imperative than rishi & lakshmi investigating over their lost son.

the makers just want to be in the business so recycling plots again by making leads be dumb in their own problems. i dont get whats giving it 1.2 trp. kkb & kundali had great actors (except dheeraj as i feel it was shraddha who was running the show) to start off with so uska toh smz mei thoda thoda aata h. over here, the pairing isnt even that popular so idk where the trp is generating from.

No, they have not discovered that Rohan is their son. I think that may be revealed in this new drama with Malishka/Lakshmi's pregnancy and finding the real baby daddy of Malishka's kid. But I am not confident that Rishi or Lakshmi will discover the truth. Malishka is the smartest in this serial. All the other characters never have a clue about what's going on.

The writers probably threw the intimacy scene in the track to raise TRPs because the story makes no sense now. Rohan and Paro's trip mix-up and Lakshmi's suicide attempt are all mind-boggling. I can't bring myself to watch the latest episodes, but from IG, it looks like Lakshmi is alive and pregnant. Sadly, she's not smart enough to find out the truth about Malishka, but I guess writers want viewers to be content that she is fertile.

Same this serial just keeps getting ridiculous. I thought I have the patience but the creators have too much non sense to dish out... It's so sad I had really hoped that this would have a good story some day but they could never make a story...

Come to think of it, what's the story of this serial in last 3 years ( in between random parties, weddings, engagements, terrorist attacks, accidents, etc).. what is the story? What is Bhagya Lakshmi ?

🤔 Wow… you make a good point. There is no story. And no character growth. Only 1000+ episodes that lead to the same drama. It’s about people doing the same thing over and over again in life and expecting different results which is… insanity.

We now have 4 kids.. 3 of laxmi and 1 of malishka... I'm 100% sure ki koi khulasa nahin hoga... t's all pointing to a leap bec malishka ka truth toh show ke last episode mein aayegA.... Pakka There will be a leap..

.. And guess who'll be the darling of the family? Malishkas kid.. Laxmi will be raising her till now unborn kid again in some gaon... Rohan will grow up feeling unloved bec according to family he is not the 'real' child... And paro will probably die or at least presumed dead otherwise how will laxmi leave....

And shalu aayush will be still making googly eyes at each other after 15 years

And then I step back and see there is no entertainment here but torture... Why would anyone watch this?

The vamp and female lead keep fighting... The vamp wins and has everything. No one cares about right, elders are shown to be "blind" .... I mean what's even the point that they get married and stay separate, have kids and stay separate, become grand parents and stay separate... What is their love story . Nothing... Why did they fight... How many times have they reached divorce courts... How many times people get engaged, kidnapped, in accidents... And then they will party in between... Like I think I just watched for a while hoping some story will emerge but I see it won't they don't have an incentive to change anything... They just want to go from one episode too another.
