He even said that contrary to what he believed, minorities r actually thriving in this country. It is very much visible to anyone who is willing to pay attention....

Only quoting this part... in an open-minded and tolerant world, the bold part wouldn't even be important to get mentioned...the word "minority" shouldn't even exist... instead of communities are p a r t of a city/town/village...and, honestly, no, even a big NO about the "thriving" part - in general when it comes to different parts of Indian people...(I wonder if that is just 'wishful thinking').

Honestly would be the happiest if this word didn’t exist. Then concepts like minority benefits, minority appeasement, minority having first right over resources also wouldn’t exist. There would be true equality.

Sadly this word exists all over the world..and is even taken advantage of by people who r in no way minorities.

About the thriving part, population has undoubtedly increased and there is data to prove that. So will not go there.

U r not living in India so u wouldn’t know. Whether u go to a vacation hotspot, picnic spot or malls..u would see a sizeable Muslim population which wasnt the case earlier. So their spending power has increased. M mentioning this community coz they r easily identifiable. Would be true for others too. There r more muslim students in mainstream schooling, more people in the workforce, they r major delivery partners of e-commerce and quick commerce giants, most of the skilled technicians.

Today they have the means to be educated, have n opportunity to earn using their skills and live a life of dignity. Whether they choose to overlook all this and stick to their prejudices..its their prerogative. But they can’t deny the obvious.

Away from the social media noise..they r thriving

In another thread - another forum - another context, I bet, I would like to have conversation with you...there definitely are things I would agree with you smiley1

Coming back to the movie, I still have to watch it...as I did with the Kashmir Files (and other 'propaganda' movies...from other countries, too) to try to select the genuine concern from the politcally motivated one.

When it comes to this movie, my priority would be those who suffered, not those with a certain agenda.

Sorry to jump in between...Did I mistake your words that "Kashmir Files" is propaganda movie or you meant that "Kashmir Files" is propaganda movie ?

Nevertheless, I'm feeling a bit sad that Vikram catered to a narrative that suits to a political agenda... (and I'm not judging about 'right' or 'wrong' when it comes to the incident's narrations)

It's not Vikram it's vikrant massey

yes, I noticed, it's Vikrant...sorry smiley9

Harini...the Kashmir Files had been named a 'propaganda movie' in the forum, so, it was one of those movies I watched to get an own view on what had been portrayed as a crucious part of Indian history after the partition.

It is right, I don't live in India...still I've contact to people living there - from different ways of life...so, I'm an outsider with an inside-view smiley1... as for sm, I decided to keep away from Twitter e.g. as far as possible.
