An observation I made about films produced by Maddock

Maddock films have been massive successes in the past 4-5 years. There’s this thing i have noticed about them which is why i think they always stand out and are able to resonate with the audience. They never explore conventional relationships. Rather their each movie is about an unconventional relationship. And around that unconventional relationship they weave so many subplots.

Badlapur - Relationship of a bereaved husband and a prisoner.

Stree - Relationship of a man who is blessed with supernatural abilities and a ghost.

Shiddat - Relationship of a man who tries to cross international borders illegally with an embassy officer.

Mimi - Relationship of a surrogate with the child she bore.

Teri baton mein - Relationship of a man and a robot.

Chor nikal ke bhaga - Relationship of a victim who becomes a criminal and the one who wronged her.

Bhediya - Relationship of a man with an alternate avatar he adorns

Dasvi - Relationship of a man with his jailer/jail inmates.

The guy started succeeding more when he cut off ties w Saif

Kudos to them for exploring more genres. But I wish they'd stop giving Krithi Sanon first priority for any meaty female role. She's ok but not extraordinary.

Good observation...and Maddock's success gave him the interest of wealthy co-producers...

Just to add: I find it rewarding to discuss many of the movies Dinesh produced right from his first one with Saif and the directional debut of Homi Adajania (Being Cyrus).

I love their supernatural universe and their supernatural world have subtle messages (Expect Bhediya, the message was loud)
