Lizzie,
Many a time, I get the same experience as yours. The cover is made so well that it matches or surpasses the original, giving you a double dhamaka pleasure.
A thousand years is Christina Perry Song. But I loved it more in this cover. When Rafi- Lata sing a duet, I like Rafi more. Maybe it's just about being a woman so more attracted to male voices
...... or maybe some songs are meant for a male voice.... Like the Air supply song Making Love Out of Nothing at All is made into a female voice cover for many VMs; but I still prefer original male version more.

M.S. Subbalaxmi is phenomenal in her songs. But when I came across this cover by a very young Sooryagaayathri, it gave me the same happiness. I appreciated the cover more because of the young age of the girl and her dedication.
. For me, the Beatles' version will always remain superior.
