Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Actor Samridhii Shukla believes fans play a very important role in an artist's journey. For her, her fans are her family, and she is grateful for their love and support.

She said, "Fans are very important. They can make or break an actor. I like to call them my family because they really see your efforts; they really see your work. It’s that unwavering support they give; they invest their time watching what you do. They can criticize also, and sometimes, you know, there are so many good points that they raise."

She went on to say that their love, appreciation, and especially feedback mean a lot to her. She said, "Their support has made me and has brought me where I am today. We are on the charts constantly in our show; our Jodi, Abhira, as a character, everything is because of their unwavering and unconditional support and love."

She agrees that adulation motivates and energizes an actor. And though she shared that there’s no pressure, she feels there’s a sense of responsibility to deliver to their expectations. She added, "Fans have the expectation of their favorite actor delivering a good performance or, you know, living up to the character. That is always there on my mind, and I try to be better every day."

With selfies becoming so popular, Samridhii feels that a photograph and a pictorial memory hold more essence than an autograph. She added, "So everybody wants to take a picture. And I totally get it. I would do it too."

And while she feels it's okay to get photographs with celebrities clicked in public places, she stressed the need to draw a line. She said, "It’s way easier to manage one or two, but sometimes there’s a group of people, and you can understand how things might just quickly go out of hand where everyone wants to take a picture. And suppose you have to be somewhere and get somewhere, and then I have seen people grabbing the celebrity’s arms and getting them to their side for pictures. I think there needs to be a line of respect, definitely. But of course, clicking pictures is totally okay."

Memorable fan moments? "I think I’m fortunate enough to be showered with a lot of gifts and a lot of appreciation. A lot of pictures, collages, frames, and everything that is sent across by the fans. They really put money in the kitty, and they do all these things; they send cakes and goodies and so many coffees. I think that’s so selfless and so beautiful, and I’m so grateful to have that much love and appreciation. I read all their messages, and I think that is my most interesting and memorable interaction. I would love to meet them someday. But whatever they send, it really reaches me, and I really see their efforts," she said.

"There have been many interactions where, if someone meets me in person, they want to hug, they want to click pictures. But there are some people who get very emotional—they say they watch the show every day, and they know my journey from my first show. That hits home and makes me feel very emotional because I know that this show, Yeh Rishta, has made me who I am and has given me fame, the name, and everything. And there’s a set of people who know me from my previous show and also this show. That hits home. Back then, I was just a newcomer and had done one show, which was not very popular. So, someone who has watched that and this—I feel very overjoyed and grateful," Samridhii ended.
