An orphaned single child who has been taken care of by someone like a guardian under the garb of marriage, because of whom she gets a family to call her own (however vile they may be), someone who always stands by her when she falls weak (until very recently), someone she has seen only stand by his family in good and bad and for what is right and is always ready to step out of his comfort zone to help her when she needs it, and most importantly be available for her in her emotionally vulnerable times (again until most recently) - all of it at the age of 22 and WITHOUT knowing anything in detail that we know about his past!! Why would she not fall for him? Why would she not find him nice? Why would she not find it hard to let go of her emotion? Why would she be okay to see her love becoming someone else's however strong she may be as a person?? I mean it's ITV so sure everything is exaggerated but human emotions are still largely the same I would think! I get the frustration that many of us have to see Abhira constantly hurt herself in the process of getting strong, but she is human! And needs to overcome the sudden surge of emotions the way she knows best!! Even if that means confessing her feelings to the yet-to-be-married man in order to feel less restless! At least she has successfully told him what she had tried to many times before! I don't see how that's not human? She is not a superwoman however much we may all want her to be one!
Armaan on the other hand has been painstakingly quiet these past few weeks and none of us are in disagreement there.. He ought to have spoken more than he did, not spoken unnecessarily in some places where he did and probably he needed to have controlled his temper many a time too! But he's human too! And in the ITV world, naarazgi/nafrat wahin sabse zyaadi hothi Hai jahaan pyaar hotha Hai! So well, maybe he thought no one else in the family considers me as apna as I consider Abhira so let's have childlike moments with her, let's laugh and play with her, let's cry under the blanket like her, let's be there for her when she needs me and ALSO let's get angry when I think she let me down (hiding about Charu affair). And no I've not forgotten about all the Ruhi stuff on the side, but honestly if we are willing so strongly for Abhira (and I do), perhaps it's worthwhile to also consider the perspective that Armaan didn't consider Ruhi as the third wheel until his marriage was going to last! He felt guilty on that front and surely he could/should have discussed with Abhira but maybe the guy was scared to lose the one person who was in corner? Maybe he made a bad judgement call??
I'm not saying the guy is right on all counts, but if every character is right in ITV how do you build drama? One has to be right and one has to be flawed at varying times int he story for it to keep remaining engaged.. if she was always right and he were always wrong also there would be enough to complain about the plot not being interesting enough! The one purpose of ITV shows is to keep its audience engaged to return everyday for the entire year and then again year after year!! They cannot possibly have monotone characters!!
Having said so much, in today's scene, Abhira said her piece, and Armaan -who was visibly shook when Abhira told him to his face that she hated him and his entire family just a few days ago was once again shaken in disbelief because he never thought he was worthy of love! And coming at a time, where he is finding himself conflicted about his emotions already, I think her words were well thought out! And his reaction was in sync with his character too!! Was it ideal? Perhaps not, but it's far better than the crap we have been dished out in the past few weeks to just keep the story afloat in TRP wars and in the pursuit of keeping channel happy by following an impossible story line! A triangle can never keep everyone happy! Worse, a triangle within supposed family members. And that is probably what makes the whole thing more cringe. But ignore the frills and view it as a TRP audience, the episode was good today! And the last couple of days as well! Now hoping they keep on it and add in a little acceleration to the storytelling so we are spared these endless dance sequences and find ourselves something worth watching!
