how to salvage Armaan?

I am SO SO angry with Armaan right now but I was thinking, if I was maker/writer, I wouldnt know how to salvage this guy so that he becomes tolerable especially if Abhimaan is end game.

so crowdsourcing ideas for the same. maybe we can send some to the makers!

What are a few things he can do to try and redeem himself?

or is it not possible coz he is too far gone to be redmeemed :( ?

I am interested in ways to redeem Armaan because if Abhimaan is end game I dont want her to have to settle for a pendulum sa who has no spine or for Armaan to treat Abhira as a backup plan or option.

It is all about the direction, and direction depends on TRP.

Inko consistency maintain karne me kya chul mach rahi hai, I don't know.

Armaan and Abhira dono ke beech, pyaar na bhi ho, gehri dosti to thi. Woh consistency bhi off hai. I cannot even see that whole hearted honesty and sincerity in the friendship which was evident before. This Armaan is so stiff, his concern and friendship also comes across as khokla and empty.

Waise to no character is well written,and sabse jyaada MLs ka treatment suffer karta hai. Semicircle me khada kar karke, becharon ki aukaad hi kya hai Itv me.

Anyway, there is no point putting much thought into redemption of MLs. They don't receive a well crafted redemption. Raita phailane me itni mehnat lagate hai, raita sametne me to lagao.

Armaan is a weak character without a backbone and voice and in an extremely fragile position in the so-called Poddar family. He has such low self esteem and self worth, that he feels that doing something useful can make him feel valued. Otherwise, it is unbelievable for him to think that someone can love him, jahaan family bhi T&C ke saath pyaar deti hai.

Ek taraf, there is Rooh-i jisko hamesha wanted feel karna hai warna uska self-worth suffer karta haI and dusri taraf ek healthy and happy ladki Abhira jisko apne self worth and self respect se jyaada, koi relation ya koi insaan matter nahi karta.

Armaan, Rooh-i se jyaada relate kar pata hai because they are alike in terms of family problems, with Abhira, it's a fresh breath of air, which he feels he doesn't deserve, and the relationship is a duty, the only thing he does properly.

I don't think his core value system is going to change. It's not possible right now. But choices have consequences. Woh to usko face karna hi padega. Redemption ka scope tab aata hai, jab kuch aisa ho that shocks his value system to shatter it completely.

If they want to actually redeem him, then he needs to see his life and value outside Poddar identity. Carve his own life and build his own self worth. Make himself worthy of being Abhira's trusted friend and support system, pyaar bahut baad me aata hai.

Armaan 12 month ki deal marriage ke hisab se sab sahi he kar raha hai! Abhi 9 months hue hai so usne bola ki woh 3 months tak rukna chahta hai divorce papers dene ke liye. He is in pressure still usne apna decision bata diya ruhi ko. Immediately ja kar abhira ko divorce papers nahi pakda diye otherwise ruhi se darr kar woh yeh bhi kar sakta tha. Waise abhi ke abhi ja kar divorce paper pakda diya hota toh zyada accha hota, shaddi jaldi toot jata.

Abhira se abhi toh usko pyar/pyar ka realisation type feeling nahi aa raha hai so woh day 1 se abhira ke sath jo deal -deal chal raha hai usi deal zone mai reh kar act kar raha hai.

Usne Aisa koi kala kaam abhi ke liye kiya nahi hai jo uske liye redemption vagera sochna pade kyunki ruhi se woh dil faad kar woh daily pyar karta ho aisa dikhta nahi hai. Waise bhi uska and abhira ka koi lamba future toh hai nahi sath mai. Aage ja kar abhira ko bhi toh sai/anupama/naira he banna hai being female lead so kaha pati , shaddi in sab ka moh maaya rakhna. Abhira ki bhi koi solo udaan he on the way hogi ya koi bahot accha admi on the way hoga.

Aj kal ki FL ki life mai marital bliss hota he nahi hai , inn logo ke liye sasural bhi kaha sasural hota hai, Sudhar kendra hota hai jaha ke bigde logo ko jivan ka path sikhane ke purpose se he yeh log husband ke ghar jate hai, jaise he Sudhar kendra mai log sahi ho jaye, yeh log apni udaan ke liye akeli nikal padti hai.

Waise bhi inn sab fls ko shaddi , pati , marital bliss , togetherness ka kya he zarurat! Yeh log akeli he kafi hoti hai apne sangharsho ke liye. In sab fl characters ka janm he solo dukh bhari gareebi bhari sangharshwali journey ke liye hua hota hai.

Ok, tbh, I really don't care or bother for Armaan. I just don't think the character deserves my attention. Rohit is still way too stiff for my liking. He is the apt guy for the portrayal of the 30 or so best lawyer of Udaipur. But he is not the guy I have seen till now with Abhira. Koi emotion touch hi nahi karta mujhe uska. Kuch bhi nahi. The honest and sincere friend to Abhira is just not hitting the right tone with me. The excitement to watch the hero with the heroine is missing. The writers are spoiling him a little everyday for me.

If emotionally, I don't feel for him, I won't even care for his redemption. From a neutral PoV, certain things I would like to see in him in terms of growth and redemption would be:

1. I understand honest lawyer, but I want to see a more clever and shrewd touch to him.

2. Move out of the family and work independently as a lawyer. He needs a serious identity check, more than Abhira.

3. Be a sincere friend. Friendship differs from person to person. His equation with Abhira is separate from Rooh-i. So if he really is a friend, he should maintain that distinction.

4. Grow up and get over being the "Good Boy". I don't want him to be some brooding Alpha male, but come on, I don't want him to be a weeping willow either.

Male lead hai, dikhao to sahi male lead hai.

ya I struggle with why ITV is portraying extremes like alpha male who is toxic or opposite end of spectrum - wallowing in self pity, bechaara . There Virat/Angad/Ishaan types and then there are Ram and Armaan types

Ram Kapoor of BALH was similar to armaan- rich, privileged, dotes on siblings and step mom and no boundaries with ex gf but always taking wife for granted.

Your suggestions for modification in his personality are well taken but that seems like too much of a change in the core characterization

Staying true to the Armaan they have built up until now- can he evolve and progress ,

He may not become shrewd but he can be more decisive

He may not get over soft corner for Ruhi but can he draw boundaries. if so, how?

He may not be able to get over his insecurities and self worth issues, but can he have some self respect as an influence of Abhira in his life.

And they have shown it in bits and pieces but they kind of make a mess of it when they lose track of that progress made.

But he goes in circles unfortunately.

Redemption bahot bada thing hai and use bhi usually bahot bada kand kiya ho tab hota hai. Muje nahi lagta abhi tak Armaan ne koi kand kiya ho . Priority misplace hona koi aisa kand nahi hai jo redemption type track dena pade.
Ek baar love story start kar diya fir toh 3-4 months mai leap milan judai he dekhna hai. Abhi toh fo ke heartbreak par maximum TRP batorna hai inko.

They are delaying because at the end of ipl they want trp on rohit's comeback yeh rishta is known for beautiful love story not for love triangle isliye triangle hme bekar lag raha hain
