I do agree that RS has never looked better than he did in this film, credit to the the cinematographer Vikash Nowlekha too. But in general RS' directors do tend to fall in love with him and it shows in their work and how their camera follows him, be it with SLB or KJo. Even a Rohit loves him totally as did Zoya till the fallout with Farhan. This is cause he is just so magnetic and due to his ability to elevate their material. I will give you an example, this whole Binte Dil sequence which was one of the most iconic in Padmaavat was almost entirely improvised by Ranveer to the point that even SLB was left in awe and said "aye Ranveer kya karta hain tu yaar".

KJO has oft spoken about the sheer awe he felt at what RS did with his role in Rocky Rani, something any other actor may have sleepwalked through but one which Ranveer elevated to iconic levels through a lot of research and method acting and again due to his own improv, in fact many of the dialogues of Rocky were added by Ranveer himself to the point KJo even wanted to credit him as a dialogue writer. Last year on RS' bday Kjo wrote an entire poem for him...lol...and this was 2 years after Rocky Rani

Ranveer is the only one I see to become a superstar with a professional recognition similar to SRK (as actor, entertainer and co-worker).

I easily can believe that directors 'fall in love' with him

The same way directors fall for Vicky, both of them are 100% committed and skilled actors. Although I would say that Vicky has much better sense of script than Ranveer ever had...I mean he did terrible projects like Rocky aur Rani, Cirkus and Jayesbhai Jordaar which almost finished his career and made him meme material in SMs. Even 83 was a wrong career movement although I would say it was a decent movie.

Even his upcoming movie Pralay does not seem very promising to me, cause wrong director again ( Jai Mehta ) + too much budget.

I hope he chooses his next movies carefully...he got MASSIVE success with Dhurandhar but it won't take more than 1-2 wrong movies to bring him down to where he was before.

but Ranveer is the better actor. you cannot find any flaws in his acting even in flop movies. Vicky is slightly behind him actingwise.
