Yes that was stupid and senseless, I think Ekta realized that people are liking Karan Nandani more than Mihir Tulsi now (KN got SPA Fav Jodi awards while Mihir Tulsi weren't even nominated at times), so she just decided to spoil it to the core
While Nandani was in coma and Karan aloof of Bhoomi since her birth took Nandani to coma, Tanya who was BFF of Karan and Nandani (and had secret feelings for Karan), started taking care of Bhoomi, Bhoomi once even called Tanya as Ma(like her first word), Virani's took it as a signal and started convincing Karan to marry Tanya since otherwise she cant remain in Shanti Niketan forever and they needed Tanya to raise Bhoomi (hell we have single dads raising virtuous daughters all alone, and here we they had plethora of people including Dadi, who was seeing an Ansh coming back in her and they needed someone else to raise Bhoomi, this was the time when Ganga wad raising Damini's son, cant they raise one more child)
Anyhow so even unwillingly Karan married her, later when Tulsi was released from Jail she realized Karan hasn't given rights as a wife to Tanya, so she told Karan was doing wrong by reducing her to a baby sitter. Then Karan and Tanya consummated their marriage (illegal marriage if I might say) while his wife was battling for life in a hospital, that too a wife he claimed to have loved more than anything in life. Tanya was pregnant while Nandani was in coma

I found the r**e track much better, since there are bad people in society and they do things that leave permanent scars in life, but this.. they showed polygyny being practiced by the leads as something good that has happened

- they showed FL ends up with a new guy -leaving her so called love / ex (who was married to someone already) as he was an abuser - even though she loved him (or was so called first love per itv)
