Why does everyone treat Appu’s parents like shit?

They’re the elder son/bahu of the house yet are treated worse than slaves.

Not even Ani’s father or his own son respects him nor do the useless old parents do anything to support.

Is it because he doesn’t earn which is why his own brother, son and family dislike him?

Yes. The house is for Ani’s dad and so, there is this dynamic where he lives in his younger brother’s house due to his income.

It is an excuse to show them all pathetic mean and what if someone earns less must be treated as a slave at least they are working not relying on that Shubham completely and Anirudh mother does not work nor does she works at home so why are they mean and proud for?? Their own son looks like adopted Bipasha is from the road this is how they behave. The elf were s of the house are as mean as Shubham.

What I also don’t understand is that how come Lal and his wife are given special treatment? If earning is the only criteria , then I think Lal is also a teacher with very less salary ( they mentioned it in an episode ) and his wife doesn’t do anything . Then why are they not being treated like they treat other lower earning people in the house

Because they amise Ani’s parents. Its like sparing a clown. Its so clear those two are social climbers and grifters and Ani’s parents need praise-singers to feel good. In addition, what other way to humiliate Bodi and Bade Papa? ‘Your son wishes he was our son. How useless are you?’

Ani’s mother have many a times shown him down and below Ani..

Professor, S/w engineer and Advocate .. all are equally respected profession even with respect to society standard… why is he shown less..

I am myself a s/w professional from years .. and I am telling what I feel for all professions

Though money is a big factor but it is more I feel their hatred towards 2 other nice brothers is just because they are nice and kind, and they are not

Mean people always hate nice people, it just very natural

the fact that Ani loves Appu didi going against the mean people is also a contributing factor

The house is the old man’s and Badepapa promised him that he won’t break the family so undergoing torture

But after Jhanak came into the house ,lately the abuse towards the nice people has increased exponentially

First it was Appudidi taking Anis attention and now Jhanak, man they can’t stand that !

Shubham and Tanuja are status-conscious. Ani has a well-paid job and is designated, so he contributes more than others. They feel the burden of supporting extended families. They don't treat Laal and Bipasha that way because they do chamchagiri to them. According to them, outspoken people are wrong, and the ones who blindly believe and listen to them are good. They hate Jhanak because of her family background and her financial status. They also don't like Jhanak talking to Anirudh because they fear she will snatch him from Arshii. They are excellent to Rimmi and Mimmi - Again, chamchagiri to them is the answer. They hate Choton as his earnings are low, and he supports Jhanak.
