Ayra ain’t a docile girl who would bend over backwards to please people who hate her. She knew she was going into a hostile environment so her stance to maintain some amount of power makes sense. These are the same people who harassed her and make her family suffer. Why should she trust them right. The only person she trusted support from is Zaid and even he said that her bitterness and stance is justified because of her trauma. This was a reactionary Ayra. It’s not in her nature not to fight back. In retrospect, of course she made a mistake of going there but maybe she thought Zaid and his support would be enough. Clearly it wasn’t.

As for the monetary compensation she did that for her bhabhi. Not herself. It’s not based on greed but based on justice for what was done to her family. Blood money is a common thing so that’s the way she closed that chapter of what happened to her brother. We all thought she was going for revenge but she really did just get her bhabhi the money and tried to move on in that house as best as she could or her personality would allow.

Bitterness pettiness and insecurities can’t be labelled as criminal acts. Sure you might not like her but she’s living in a house surrounded by people who hate her and want her out - I was glad zaid and bhabhi both pointed that out. Ayra is strong but no matter how strong you are, your trauma catches up to you especially if you face so many roadblocks. The only thing I really fault her in is the wife scam, which an episode later basically became so lame that it was a joke and only served to set the events in motion that eventually happened there. The writer , even when she made Ayra scheme, made it look so amateurish - how someone who doesn’t know how to scheme would scheme lol. She was not in her element at all. Only took asif one day to bring her down lol

So compared to everyone else Ayra isn’t bad. She just went through a lot and her and Zaid weren’t on the same page on how they could move on from her past. He thought it was best to fit into the family but she knew it would never be possible because they were out to get her. He didn’t see through them but she did. Plus she hadn’t even healed and she moved in with them all. So it was all doomed to begin with. But yeah she definitely didn’t make things easy but given her trauma and mutual hate with Asif, I don’t blame her either.

Given their history she needed a stronger protector than Zaid, who had authority in the house but Zaid isn’t that person. That’s why she ended up taking a lot of things on her own. She couldn’t rely on Zaid who himself relied on MJ and Asif lol. She didn’t want herself to be reliant on them like he was. She’s a much stronger and independent character than Zaid is.

some might take her actions in a bad light but for me it was either her trauma talking or just a reaction from a person who has to look out for herself because her husband is too weak / dependent on others she can’t trust.

Everyone else’s flaws are being highlighted. MJ for not telling the truth and showing empathy. Zaid has owned up to everything and then some. Just because Ayra hasn’t committed crimes means that we paint her as someone completely different? Even you’re saying that many things she did was a reaction to trauma but Ayra isn’t owning up to any of it. It’s like it didn’t happen. Innocent Ayra married just out of love and has no accountability on getting herself in any of this mess.

Many of Ayra’s claims are just theoretical. She said even if she was sat quiet in a corner, this would have happened to her. If she worked for their business, she would have no importance there. She never tried these things. I still think the worse that would have happened to her during this Turkey trip is that Asif would ignore and dismiss her. He didn’t conspire to organize this trip just for the sake of torturing Ayra. What happened to her was terrible and Asif and Rayyan need to pay. This is a different situation but Ayra needs to admit her shortcomings in this marriage too…even if it was trauma induced (I still think a lot of it is just her personality).

I agree that Ayra isn’t a docile girl, so why are they trying to portray that way all of a sudden. Zaid can’t go on a business trip because she can’t take care of herself? She wasn’t imprisoned before he left. She could have left. She wasn’t that vulnerable. Zaid screwed up with the Rayyan thing and this is one area where I agree that he needs to take responsibility.

This is a different situation. There are 2 wives that technically should have the same rights. He really didn’t ask for 2 wives. That’s the point though, Zaid isn’t as strong as Murtasim and is a little too go with the flow type. This is his struggle that he’s getting out of I suppose. The concept of polygamy is uncomfortable so I don’t think we are supposed to feel good about it.

Murtasim wears his emotions on his sleeve/is expressive. Zaid is emotionally stunted/not good at expressing emotions.

Murtasim is a leader. Zaid is a (reluctant) follower. Zaid is in the shadow of his more charismatic, domineering father

No one will dare cut Murtasim down to size/show him his place the way Zaid's father does to him.

Murtasim is powerful while Zaid lacks agency.

Just look at the way they dress. Zaid looks like he is a little boy dressed in a grown man's clothes (they are loose, oversized). Murtasim's clothes fit him perfectly which complements how he wears his power with so much ease.

Murtasim is more comparable to Asif uncle (if Asif had empathy) than Zaid.
