Dunki Drop Self Fulfilling Prophecy ?
This is meh. Only 30% jump on Saturday? Needed 50% jump or at least match the OD numbers. Should finish around 175-180crrs in India.
Both father daughter have meltdowns now
Wish there was no Wednesday Adams Thing hand.
Hirani's formula is outdated now. If you observe his filmography, it's always about a quirky character who finds himself in a unique predicament in a light-hearted comedy. He's going the Sooraj Barjatya way, wherein Sooraj's films had a good-hearted man in a family turmoil in a dramedy.
I think Sriram Raghavan is the only one who has remained true to his form but continues to deliver good cinema. EHT was a Korean-esque revenge thriller. Johnny Gaddar was basically a heist. Badlapur was a European-styled revenge drama. And, Andhadhun was a dark comedy. By the looks, Merry Christmas looks to be a Hitchcockian nightmare.
Same issue with SRK. Pathaan and Jawan, poor movies as they were, were very un-SRK-like films. As soon as he returns to SRK'ism, it's not resonating as much.
Dunki will probably end up at around 250 crores in India unless it sees a colossal fall during the weekdays. But with Gadar 2, Animal, and now Salaar, it's obvious what the audience craves in today's environment.

Precise & perfect to the point.
Have you watched Wednesday Adams? It's on Netflix.
It has a creepy 'Hand' as a character called 'Thing'.
