Prateksha was a bungalow he owned or purchased on his own. I don’t know if it was legally in his parents name. I doubt it since after his parents’ passing he became the sole owner and didn’t share it with his brother. His parents always lived with him. Jalsa was given to him by a producer as the renumeration of one of his movies in the 70s. He and Abhishek purchased the property behind it to make it a compound in 2013. There’s also another property he owns which is used as his office Janak.

He’s getting older. He’s still very active and hopefully will live a long healthy life. But it’s always a good idea to get your affairs in order while you’re alive. Giving Prateksha to Shweta is not only a sweet parental gesture but it’s a good move to avoid confusion and drama when he’s no longer here. I’m assuming Abhishek is probably becoming the sole owner of Jalsa.

Exactly. Her entire life kinda got wasted. Hope she enjoys this new phase.

It is a right gesture and message especially in a country like India where girls are still treated like “paraya dhan” after marriage.

Actually, Amitabh had publicly stated many years ago that whatever he has will be equally split between his son and daughter.
