The pain Vanraj is protraying is just so realistic. It is really touching. I really miss Samar. And Vanraj is really showing the emotions of a father really well.

In fact, even Anupama shows that pain really well. Just that she is trying to fight her pain in a different way. She has been through a lot of pain in life so she is better able to handle it.

Vanraj makes me cry sometimes.

I wonder if Toshu, Pakhi and Kinjal even remembers that there was a person name Samar in their lives.

Sudhanshu is literally the only good actor on the show lol. Maybe Madalsa too but that's it.

He would do so well in a positive role in some other show.

He would do well in a negative role here too, issue is they are attempting to whitewash someone who should be a villain. So its going neither here nor there and story is making no sense.

Actually I loved him in the initial episodes so much. I was literally scared when he’d sit on that chair with legs on both sides and wait for Anupama. Or those ghungroo episodes. Those stares. And then he’d be completely different personality with Kavya. It was borderline psychotic.

Eff man. This used to be a really good show with nice portrayal of domestic abuse, violence and cruelty that many of our Indian women face at in-laws. They just killed everything by mellowing down Vanraj. This is really pathetic.

Sorry for my language. smiley24

I don't think they try to whitewash his character. They do make him jump loops of a shit person to a good person to a shit person again (like every character in the show apart from upmaa) whenever they run out of ideas but his basal character is still someone who is a horrid husband and father but at the end of the day someone who loves his parents, sister, and family at large. He is a terrible person but can be extremely good in some situations. Like the poster above said, it was a very realistic representation of the normalised abuse women go through. He is the only character apart from Kavya who is not a caricature of a literary trope.

They saw a every romantic softboi, angsty hero trope and put it in a blender to make Anuj. Rest of the characters bhi dolte rehte to glorify upmaa. Vanraj is the only character that acts a mover in the actual story lol

True that!Vanraj's pain as a father who is unable to move on from the death of his son makes me feel bad too, he really hasn't felt any sort of happinesssince Samar's demise and it is seensmiley24,can't say the say same about Samar ki Mummy though, Upmaa has moved on so fast that it seems too unreal, too unsympathetic and cruel. smiley26

Exactly, I completely agree with u in fact I would go as far as to say that Anupamaa before Anuj's entry>>>>>>>after Anuj's entry. It was so entertaining, Anupama was someone who could be sympathized with, the characters were consistent and the there were story tracks and drama too, none of which they have been able to maintain since Anuj's entry. Only if they did make Anuj a lovesick puppy but a sensible man who refuses to take shit and gives it back then & there, this show would have been good.
