Just like children are entitled to their parents' property irrespective of whether they are good children or not. It's a matter of economic rights, not a prize/reward for being conforming.
I do not invalidate one set of family relations for other. Her attachment to her abusers is toxic and codependent but her attachment to her adult children is very natural. Do our parents stop fussing over us especially if we, as adults, have tough times? No. She is not a good mother or MIL but her worrying about Pakhi getting abused, or taking care of Dimpy, or mourning for Samar is not misplaced lol. That is how any parent reacts.(It is another thing that she is a huge ass hypocrite being an abuser and enabler herself.) More importantly, why is it made to seem like her blood relations are leeching on Anuj, the great? Are her children not his children too?
Like, Malti Devi would have had a problem with Pakhi spending Anuj's money or Samar's widow staying at the Kapadias if they were his biological children? NAH.
The criticism isn't that they are brattish, selfish adults, it's that they impose upon Anuj's money while not being his biological children. Even in your post, it says that any Shah needing help should be helped by Anupamaa with her own money lol.
Edit: if we suppose, for a second, that her adult kids were Anuj's biological kids, would her love for her husband and kids be pitted against each other? She would just be called a bad mother who doesn't know how to prioritise. Which is genuinely her issue lol.
@bold: In the question lies the answer.
So, they are there only for the money? Is it?
That is a bigger problem isn't it? Her Adult, Married Children only want the money from Anuj and care a damn about the relation they share.
How does that work? Anupama (on several occasions, specifically when Pakhi was insisting on her marriage with Adhik and Anuj took the initiative to speak to them) specifically mentioned to him to NOT interfere in her children's life because it is Vanraj and her responsibility.
I couldn't find the larger clip but her is an example:

As a parent, one has to make children earn their own living isn't it? That is the same with Choti Anu.
