Assume you haven't watched that BTS. Free yourself from outside biases, Does that look like guilt talk? She feels she is doing for the best where is guilt in it? She is just like Viaan after ONS, he thought, what he did was not wrong, no guilt was present there.
Yes, director is wrong to phrase this a guilt talk. It can be called a monologue. It isn't even about understanding Katha it is just about definition of that conversation.
Also, I am not a Katha fan. But, I am a fan of this show called Katha Ankahee. I have criticized Katha when I felt she deserved it. She deserves it now too. I see things from a neutral perspective which is just POV of characters and independent of the biases from outside world. I don't know what other shows are doing, I see what characters are doing in this show. What are the motivations of their actions/decisions and how much they make sense or don't make sense.
Yes, most of my comments recently is about POV of Katha doesn't mean Viaan's POV doesn't matter to me. Only reason I don't write on Viaan's POV is because his POV is simply too well explained both by fans on twitter and here also. Not only that, show is giving most of the screen space to his POV. So, I don't feel like talking about something which is so much explored. Katha's POV is unexplored severely that's why I write about her. And, thing is that there is so much to explore.
It is really easy to write about Viaan's POV only but, I chose not to. Maybe I should start writing some so that you feel satisfied.

@red, katha saying she broke up because of family and justified her shouting. Isn't it typical ITV cliche? Ektas heroine much better in this section, at least they would show love when he isn't in sense, here she is talking nonsense.
What's mass audience? Mass audience just watch any show for time pass just like us but sometimes we keep continuing nonsense but they just change channel. They are targeting very wrong audience with this stupid storyline.
