Hi All:

I wrote this fan fiction based on Rakhi's life. Most of the story is real with some embellishments.

If you like my story leave comments and most of all, I want you to vote for Rakhi and her Chillar Party. Being a woman, it's hard enough for one to get to the top, especially if you don't have family support. Dreaming big for a woman isn't bad, Rakhi is truly one of a kind. She deserves our votes.

What's in it for me? I am an activist who works for children and their education through non-profit organizations. Since Rakhi promised part of her earnings to the Chillar party members (the kids, themselves) I want to do my little bit for their education.

Without further ado....here is Rakhi's story - I will also include Rakhi's chillar party kid's profiles at the end of the story.

PART 1

'You are doing this over my dead body!' shouted ACP Sawant, his ruddy face scaring the thirteen year old girl with the big scared eyes in front of him.

'But, Dad! This is what I want to do in my life! I want to be an actress and a dancer.' The girl answered belligerently.

ACP Sawant glared at the girl in front of him. 'You know what Rakhi, this is all your mother's doing, she is the one who put this bug of acting in your head. She still blames me for stopping her acting dreams after we got married.' He stared at his wife, Usha stonily.

'Suniye, if she is really keen on being an actress, why don't you let her be? She is a talented dancer and she has a burning ambition. My heart tells me that she will be a somebody when she grows up.' Rakhi's mother Usha begged her husband.

'Are you crazy, woman? You can't be serious! What sort of woman are you to get your daughter into this dirty entertainment business? Do you have any idea, what sort of people go into the film industry?' ACP Sawant raged at his wife.

'I think Goddess Saraswati will approve of her artistic talent. Rakhi should be given an opportunity to do what she wants. 'You stopped Jaya from acting, and now she is married, I am not going to let you put a stop to Rakhi's career.' Usha straightened her spine and looked at her husband steadfastly.

'I am the man of the house, it's my word that goes in this family, I am the bread winner, if you have forgotten it.' ACP Sawant said sarcastically.

'Ji, I know and I respect you for being the father and the wage earner for this family, we all are indebted to you, myself, Jaya, Rakesh and Rakhi. But children need to be given independence to live their lives, she has to spread her wings one day and leave the nest. Please, listen to me, if not for her, for me'' Usha held her husband's hands and beseeched him earnestly.

ACP Sawant extricated his arms from her hands. 'If Rakhi pursues this career, she will have to leave my house. I am not letting a daughter of mine to act in movies and dance to vulgar songs. I am from a proper Marathi family, respectable and orthodox. I don't want to a twit of a girl to taint my family name!' ACP Sawant brooked no arguments from Usha or his thirteen year old daughter.

Rakhi looked at him with steadily. Her eyes were clear with self-confidence. ACP Sawant flinched by her passive aggressive look. She was always the rebellious one, never took a 'No' with grace, always questioning him and always rebelling against his authority in the house. He gritted his teeth.

'Rakhi, attend your school, like a good little girl, if you ever decide to quit school to become an item-dance girl, this house will close the doors to you forever.' He turned and left in a huff and banged his bedroom door shut.

Rakhi looked balefully at the closed door, and said in a clear voice.

Rakhi looked balefully at the closed door, and said in a clear voice.

"Papa, I will show you one day! I will become the best I can be, at what I do! I will be the dancer, even if it is just an item girl, I will entertain the people of India. One day, you will hug me and tell me that I am good at what I do!"

Usha hugged her daughter whose innocence and ambitions warred with each other. Rakhi's young body held traces of the baby fat, her chubby cheeks exhibited her youth while her luscious mouth hinted at future sensuality. But what caught her attention was her eyes. They were clear, with brimming confidence and clear conscience.

Please leave your comments if you like Rakhi's story!

Next chapter, Rakhi's big break...will Rakhi's father allow her to enter film industry?

I like it. Something different plus I am all for the ones that help the weak and the needy. Rakhi got to were she is because of her personal strength. We all know how hard it is to make it in the entertainment industry.

Isn't it a shame the father instead seeing only the negatives of the industry decide it's not something he wants to associate with. Does he ever think that instead of gaining love his child, he ends up losing it.

Want to read the next part. 👏 👏 👏

Hi SR

If I consider it to be just a FF without thinking of the particular person regarding whom the story is formed...then I'll be at ease in commenting and hopefully not biased (sorry but I have my own reservations regarding her..not the usual ones though).

The way the father disregards the wishes of his daughter was pathetic. Parents are often found to oppose their childrens' wishes..for good or for their own mindset..but there is a way to show the light. Scolding is even a way..but making it a peaceful event is a better way to deal with things..until and unless they go out of hands.

Now people in general have hesitation their close relations being part of the industry..initially. it's obvious..though when it comes to viewing..the scenario is different! Anyway what I was telling that how can the man say such words and in such manners to a teenager? It's going to affect her thoughts anyway! And being a father..couldn't he nurture his daughter's talent in a way that he finds respectable? at least that could be done...instead of the display of authority which especially a rebellious child wouldn't care of!

Please try to continue soon.. 😳

One more thing..I liked the intentions with which the FF has been written 👏

Nina, Kanta and Ree:

Thanks for your comments.

My intention when I wrote the *story* was really not to put her father down. Knowing most fathers, they would probably be against their children joining the showbiz because it comes with it's baggage.

But when I read her bio, what striked me was the fact that not only did she walk out at 14, she stood strong and now she takes care of her brother and her mother. Her father is still opposed to her career.

I am not a fanatical support of any particular star, and I am not against any star who made this show successful, but I feel Rakhi deserves it more. Inspite of her ranting and ravings, her reactions with the children seem to be genuine and not affected. She has her faults, but if she is going to pay for the kids education, I am all for it.

The other reason I am supporting her is she reached the finals with her hard work...she is a great dancer as well as good human being.

Thank you all for reading, looks like there were 165 hits for reading Rakhi's real life story. The facts in this are very real, although the dialogues are contrived.

Part 2

XXXXX

At the Vile Parle school, the kids pointed to Rakhi Sawant and whispered, the loud stage whispers reaching her ears.

"Is that the girl? She doesn't look like a movie heroine? What do you think the guy saw in her?" The malice in the fourteen year old visibly shook her.

"Are you kidding me, she is not the heroine. I heard she is an item girl!" An older boy leered at her.

"What's an item girl?" the younger, geekish looking boy whispered back.

"You know, like 'Helen'…the girl who dances at the bars with the villains. She is like a cabaret dancer…Almost like a tawaif, a prostitute" The older boy winked at Rakhi, who seethed with rage.

She walked up to him and slapped him hard. "Say that again, you *****" the epithets she chose made the upper class kids turn red.

The boy easily held her back, his arm twisting her wrist behind her back. He laughed as she tried to extricate herself from his hold.

She cursed him some more, choice Marathi words that would have made her dad's ears burn with shame.

"Item girl, Item girl…" They chanted, making her eyes spurt with tears. She tried to blink, not wanting to give the pleasure of making her cry.

"Just wait and watch, I will be more famous than all of you here, and you will want to get my autograph!" she spat in his face.

The boy pushed her back. "Not in your lifetime or mine, stupid girl! That director is going to take advantage of you and leave you in a lurch. He will be your sugar daddy!"

Rakhi fell to the ground, her round face looked up at him defiantly. "You are wrong, I won't let any one take advantage of me, I am me, Rakhi Sawant, I will be successful, I don't need any one to be my sugar daddy!" she didn't know the meaning of the word, but she surmised that what he said was something akin to an insult.

The boys watched her on the ground, laughing at her plight and ran to the classrooms as the bell rang.

Rakhi stayed there for a while, looking incongruous in her long skirt rid up high on her thighs, and her blouse tightly stretched on her oversized bosom.

The same thoughts swirled in her head, what if this person takes advantage of her? What if her father was right and the film industry was nothing but a place where young maidens like her lost their innocence?

She got up, shook her skirt off of the dust and went into her classroom thoughtfully.

XXX

Suneel Darshan looked her up and down.

"I asked for an older woman, not a fourteen year old girl, are you sure she is fourteen. I mean, she is too well developed for such a young girl." He looked at the casting director.

"Her mother swears that she is only 14. The girl just has big…" He stopped short, embarrassed.

"I don't want to get into trouble, you know that the part is for an item number. It's not meant to be for young children. She will be dancing with Govinda!" Director Suneel Darshan had a troubled expression.

"But you saw her dance, she auditioned beautifully, I think she will be the Helen, for sure!" the casting director insisted.

"If her family has no objections, then why should I?" Suneel made up his mind.

"I am not so sure!" muttered the small, nervous man in front of him.

"What did you say?" Suneel prompted him.

"She is telling her father, as we speak!" he answered with stammer.
XXX
"I told you that if you insist on acting in the movies, this home is no longer yours. You can leave, go and live with the guy who gave you the part!" ACP Sawant's face was getting ruddier by the minute.

"Aap aisa nahin keh sakte!" Her mother cried. "She is only fourteen! She can not go and live by herself. The part is a coveted one, she will be dancing with Govinda-ji, he is one of the best dancers in the industry." She begged her husband to reconsider.

"NO!" he grabbed his daughter by the hand and pulled her toward the door. "Get away from me and my house. From today forward, this house is no longer yours, not only that, I am not your father!" the uniformed man looked like a policeman that he was, not a father.

"I can't let her be in this city all alone, if she goes, I will go!" Usha made up her mind to defend her daughter.

"In that case, leave! I don't need a woman who chooses her daughter over her husband. Take your son with you as well." He shook with rage.

"Thinking again, why should you leave? I will go, I will take an apartment and live there, you can live in this house, with the kids. Mauj mana lo…celebrate your daughter's barbadi."

No amount of pleading and begging changed his mind. He packed and left the house, never to come back again.

XXX

Rakhi was excited about the sets and her first part in the movies. Govinda was really nice to her, he was a married man and sweet to her. He talked to her in a gentle voice and made her comfortable. She blew away every one with her dance. The movie "Joru ka Gulam" was a big hit. Every one loved her dance, but Rakhi couldn't get any part in the movies for three more years, however hard she tried.
