I think most of us agree that Akshara and the Goenkas are problematic characters, but I'm curious why the change in reactions to their flipping.
Six years ago, blood relations didn't matter because Abhinav accepted a child that was hidden from his from real father, but now blood relations are important because of her possible pregnancy?
Six years ago, she had the right to chose a fake family for Abhir, but now she needs to be a single mother raise her child(ren) by herself? Divorce couples getting back together for themselves and their child it's not unheard of. Also, if she was brave or independent to begin with she wouldn't need to marry a stranger in the first place.
Six years ago, Abhir was an the excuse for marrying, but now it's not acceptable? Why? If she can marry a random stranger she met on the bus for Abhir then why not his real father Abhi? Why can't she depend on her the father of her child?
A few months the Goenkas advocating for Abhinav who they met a few months ago and were practically demanding that she give him his "haq" was seen as progressive, but the same Goenkas doing the same the man that was there for them for the past seven years is wrong?
Disclaimer: This isn't about ships or the actors. No need to drag or belittle people who are doing their jobs and reading the scripts that were given to them. I'm genuinely curious why people have different reactions to her behavior when it's the exact same situations.
Edit: I'm traveling so I can't reply to all the responses but thanks for sharing your perspectives!
