I think most of us agree that Akshara and the Goenkas are problematic characters, but I'm curious why the change in reactions to their flipping.

Six years ago, blood relations didn't matter because Abhinav accepted a child that was hidden from his from real father, but now blood relations are important because of her possible pregnancy?

Six years ago, she had the right to chose a fake family for Abhir, but now she needs to be a single mother raise her child(ren) by herself? Divorce couples getting back together for themselves and their child it's not unheard of. Also, if she was brave or independent to begin with she wouldn't need to marry a stranger in the first place.

Six years ago, Abhir was an the excuse for marrying, but now it's not acceptable? Why? If she can marry a random stranger she met on the bus for Abhir then why not his real father Abhi? Why can't she depend on her the father of her child?

A few months the Goenkas advocating for Abhinav who they met a few months ago and were practically demanding that she give him his "haq" was seen as progressive, but the same Goenkas doing the same the man that was there for them for the past seven years is wrong?

Disclaimer: This isn't about ships or the actors. No need to drag or belittle people who are doing their jobs and reading the scripts that were given to them. I'm genuinely curious why people have different reactions to her behavior when it's the exact same situations.

Edit: I'm traveling so I can't reply to all the responses but thanks for sharing your perspectives!

It's as straight as it gets , she wanted to get back at abhimanyu for choosing his family over her after she endangered his family's life. Who wouldn't choose family if the spouse proves to be fatal for own family's life , but pea sized brain akshara doesn't get that.

It's very simple....as per recent ITV trends on SP shows, a third angle is deified randomly as per the whims of the script and all characters are shown to hail him/her all day claiming that the third angle is another avatar of God who does great things no one else cansmiley36......so that is why whatever is done in service of the third angle is hailed as the right and "green flag" and "progressive" choice.

Meanwhile the male lead of the story is vilified for every mistake - even mistakes that most human beings would make in general....anger and impulse are very common emotions found in every other person....but in Star Plus shows these days, the narrative is being pushed that showing anger in one episode totally makes you irredeemable as a person and all other good you have done in the whole story is also washed awaysmiley36

That is why the standards suddenly change if the FL now tries to use the same logic to go back to the ML....apparently that logic was specially crafted only to be used on the third angle who is a living God for the purpose of this narrative. As per makers, people want to see forcefully glorified characters hailed as Gods all day rather than actual human beings with substance and human traits smiley36

Her character was always a plot device, but the makers went too far with the second leap. There is no redeeming qualities about her.

I suppose it's the perks of being the female lead. It's always someone else's fault even if she is directly responsible lol.

Very valid points.

It's amusing how the same behavior is justified or vilified depending on who does it. If the makers wanted to use his "anger" to vilify him then why show the female lead behaving like an sociopath for eight month? She has done and said a million times worse than what he did on that one day. Goenkas have been verbally and emotionally abusing him in their "anger" over a daughter they didn't care about for six years. Muskaan is cursing and verbally abusing him, but for her it's grief over her neighbor/brother lol. That double standards make the show a joke.

@bold So, basically it's subpar writing by incompetent writers lol.

Team Abhimanyu (Gen 3)

Even i am curious too smiley36 for me akshara marrying abhimanyu is not a big thing.as her life itself filled with sacrifices to please others.but 6 years ago she had a choice and she need not please anyone as abhir was very small. Her decision of marrying stranger was worst decision which itv can show on screen. My problem was not with her moving on or marrying some one.

My problem her marrying for a kid even though she has so much wealth burdening abhinav with no intention of fullfilling her marriage. It looked more like she found one more sacrifical lamb like her so she took advantage of him which is really worst.

It's not like akshara was a character like manjari who has no job experience. Characters like manjari, arohi and shefali shown how strong they are but as a fl akshara failed and they ruined by showing she needs father. In order to justify they made her jam maker.as if she was a singer they can not play gareebi card with abhinav.

If a person is moving on from other person have some valid reason atleast. Akshara ensured she blame abhi completely for the failure of the marriage where as her actions everytime initiates seperations.

She even insulted father of the child by ensuring he will never get his love. I can never forget that smirk which akshara had on her face during abhir's birthday when abhir left abhimanyu and hugged abhinav. For me i felt her humanity died that day itself. Abhimanyu did so many things for akshara and in return akshara takes his position of being a father to a child and even feels proud about it.

As a character akshara never ever deserve abhimanyu. I am not saying this because she has moved on. But her justification for move on is really pathetic. She demeaned and insulted abhi and even made him to commit suicide. Which i never ever want anyone to face in life.

But as a itv character i will just move on from track as in the end its writers mistake.

Regarding khoon logic what if tomorrow abhimanyu gives blood to naira sharma. Kya woh khoon wala papa ban jayega 😂 in the end naira sharma kabhi nahi ayegi. As she will be called as Abhimanyu's daughter legally and officially even if she is abhinav's daughter. When akshara can change bc when the person is alive idhar toh abhinav is dead 😄

This is a pretty good summary of the frustrations we have had for the past eight months. I feel like they had so many options here, so many ways to do this right and not make Ak look like a shallow person, but it was more like at every step that is what they wanted to show.

Akshnav relationship itself is so cringe. They could have shown that for six years she waited for Abhi, but actually became friends and somewhere even loved Abhinav as a friend. Then the transition to something romantic would have made more sense.

Also her vileness during Abhir's custody stuff has no real reason only. Even her lack of concern or care for Abhir's feelings is astounding to me. Which mother behaves like this? For both Abhi and Abhir, she feels so entitled to their love that she doesn't even care about their feelings in a lot of cases.
