Rocky Rani was a hit in India and a blockbuster overseas. However Ranveer's last two movies 83 and Circus were epic disasters. And people also disliked Rocky n Rani trailer. Whatever opening they achieved was due to Alia's star power.

These two Slb movies are top grossers not only in india but also overseas… SLB and Kjo (as much as I dislike him) are star directors with a a huge following of their own… also it might be karans worst performing movie (inflation adjusted)
I didn’t say it wasn’t a hit. I said it underperformed. Given Alia’s high and mighty stardom, she should’ve been able to reach 200Cr with a Karan Johar directorial.

Also, Rocky Aur Rani’s Opening was low too. Only 11 crore. That’s hardly a good number. Ae Dil Hai Muskil opened at 13 crores and that was 7 years ago
