I don’t know if this applies to India but in the U.S. it’s not growth hormones directly being injected to kids. But meat, poultry, and dairy farms use a lot of growth hormones on their animals to increase production and make bigger profits. Kids consuming the meat, eggs, milk from these farms will get at least some of those hormones in their system. This is why each generation of American kids seem taller than their parents and hit puberty earlier than their parents. I think American vegetarians and vegans can sometimes become annoying and obnoxious, but there’s sense and logic in the actual belief, and humanity
You are correct about the food in the US. But you’d be surprised at how many American kids are on growth hormone injections. That’s why there’s a huge ongoing shortage of Norditropin since the last several months and the shortage is projected to last until the beginning of next year. The demand is way too high for the supply available. If kids do not grow at anticipated rate compared to their peers, lots of pediatric endocrinologists recommend them. I don’t judge either way. As far as I am concerned, it’s between the doctor and the kids’ parents. It is what it is.
