I pretty much agree with you that there are huge punjabi communities..but the people i know that were born there do know punjabi but always have that canadian accent...they speak punjabi but have that accent which is different from Indian people....
also punjabis living in canada do learn to speak their mother tongue but they are very hesitant to speak hindi fluently...although they understand it bcoz of the similarity between hindi and punjabi language...
and here the lead is speaking hindi and punjabi fluently as if she has no schooling from canada
my main point was...the accent coz of the schooling from childhood which is absent in main lead..
so yeah..
baaki i am not living in canada...i have my relatives residing over there...and they have that different accent...
also there are many canadian punjabi youtubers...u will always find that accent...
also boliyan is kinda tough...but if the culture is practiced thoroughly it can be learnt
there is a video from sherry kaur as a canada born indian teacher.you can look it up on youtube
on channel
"Asim Sarwar Production" channel
No I totally get where you're coming from and like I said, it really depends on the individual. Like, forget other people, even my brother and I have different accents. 😆
