Behen, You really need to calm down and that’s not a bad thing trust me. Because you are mixing up things. I never quoted you. I was responding to the article too. You quoted me first with all kinds of things you made up on your own. And that too in a tone that I don’t appreciate.

yep and I didn’t appreciate the rude dismissing of a specific style of cinema either by claiming “these people” were ruining Bollywood…particularly quoting and endorsing a post that was replying to my post with backhanded nonsense …..

And so yep posted a counter argument saying that the people currently claimed by the article to save Bollywood, delivered absolute duds in the last 20 years..

More like venting the frustration that your point was being dismissed in its face. And you decided to vent it by quoting me out of nowhere throwing tantrums about the things that I never claimed in the first place. Because neither the post I quoted nor my reply to it said anything about Anil Sharma nor him being the legendary director. You are the one who called him legendary and you even went and researched about the guy’s filmography which I had no clue about. Ok, I give it to you. You proved that Anil Sharma is not legendary. Congratulations for proving yourself wrong! Happy?

Oh and my point is valid. Left to these people, they will drive the Hindi Cinema to the film festivals while Hollywood and South Indian movies takeover. Last 3 years prove it!

I said, they were hailed because of their cultural impact which was much higher in comparison to Gadar despite it making more money

A slew of backhanded posts dissing the “European” style of cinema happen

You quote a backhanded post and make another one about certain kind of people ruining cinema with boring “European” film festival movies …basically the same argument as the article makes

I quote that and say …well hey…the massy guys the article glorified didn’t deliver anything in the last 20 years …and the classy European guys being dissed here have stayed relevant and given hits since then

u didn’t duh…the article claims his style of cinema is what works at the box office…and clearly that’s more false than true as evidenced in he last 20 years…

and u endorsed its viewpoint and brought down the other style of “European” cinema …which has had a far better track record in terms of relevance and posterity

I posted in response to harminders article …you quoted a posted that was condescendingly dissing that opinion and added onto that in a backhanded manner ….

Lagaan also also had a massive cultural impact with it being nominated to the Oscar’s , it’s montages being spoofed in other movies , commercial directors like rakesh roshan, rajamouli claiming it hugely inspired them, it was one of the very few films at that time based on sports …

I can’t think of a single movie that was inspired by Gadar, or a single filmmaker who claimed they joined films because they were so inspired by it ….the only movies Gadar inspired was trash like sallus veer (made by the same director) ..it is also telling that neither the director , nor the actors managed to create a stir outside this film in the last 20 years …

If u make a lot of money but create no culturally significant shift in the film industry, u will just be a hit film ….not something that will stay in posterity

that is why hum aapke hai kaun is remembered, not jai santoshi ma….

ddlj is remembered not raja hindustani,

Jane bhi do Yaaro is remembered not himmatwala,

How fondly is Gadar remembered or not is right in front of us today. Just because you remember DCH doesn't mean so does some dude from Lucknow.
