Since SRK had become a producer, he tried to secure the budget of his movies...so, it would not be sensational news if he already has recovered Jawan's budget through selling rights...

...and he never let his distributors/theatre owners down...he paid back if they asked him (which they rarely did making a deal for the next of his movies).

Dear, I understand your frustration that SRK does (and get) things others don't...it's a economic reputation he's built over the years...

And yes I am frustrated at the moment but it has nothing to do with the financial decisions of some random Old man. It's this fly you see that has entered my office....who has been cheating death through my home made fly swatter(newspaper rolled up) with extreme finesse & artistry trying to permanently settle on my hairy legs...almost mocking me. Making the money back before release isn't new. But what will the theatrical revenue be ?

Exhibitors only get 50% of the share of tickets sold. So if they are buying for 314 crore, the movie needs to do business of 628 crores for them to recover their investment from tickets.

They never take foreign box office into account in their flop/hit designations so 314- 105 (Overseas) = 209cr India - and twice that - 418cr

Of course none of that has to to do with producers, studios and actors making profit which is why they keep making movies - because distributors might not consistently make profit but they do (distributors if they own theaters regularly make profit on concessions) Still think the designation flop/hit/blockbuster not based on admissions or profit to the studio but just to local distributors is nuts. You could make a film costing 200cr - sell it to distributors for 25cr. Make 75cr and it's called an ATBB while the studio/producer loses money and hardly anyone has seen it. Blockbuster was defined by lines around the block - not multiples of local distributor profit.
