Why Shammi is Aamir's lucky mascot…
Superstar Aamir Khan has a lucky senior superstar mascot in Shammi Kapoor.
Aamir launched 'Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na's music at the latter's residence on Tuesday.
The private affair was attended by Aamir, nephew Imran, music composer A R Rahman and QSQT director Mansoor Khan. So what is it about Aamir and the veteran actor?
"Shammiji's blessings are important. He has been very close to our family and a guiding force for me since a long time. It is a ritual or us to go and present him the first copy of the music of the film. Since it is Imran's launch it is all the more important!" said Aamir on his association with Shammi.
This is not the first time that Aamir has launched the music of his film at Kapoor's residence. Aamir's directorial venture, Taare zameen par's music was also launched there. In 1988, Aamir sought his blessings for his debut film, Qayamat
Se Qayamt Tak, which became a blockbuster.
Since perfectionist Aamir Khan has personally overseen the making of the music by genius A R Rahman, the music is sure to create waves and to top it; it has been blessed by Shammi Kapoor, whose films like Teesri manzil and Tumsa nahin Dekha were directed by Aamir's uncle Nasir Hussain and had memorable songs like O mere Sona Re, Aaja aaja, o Haseena zulfo wali, tumsa nahin dekha and Resham ka Rumaal. Shammi was a close friend of Nasir Hussain who is Aamir's uncle.
It has been reported that Mansoor Khan, Aamir's cousin, who has made blockbusters like QSQT and Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar, has ghost directed Imran's Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na!
