She is strong. She was just conditioned to be a certain way. The baby steps towards resurgence have already been taken. She is already questioning her lot in life. She had already made the decision to not marry Shyam and would have rebelled if anyone tried to push her. When push comes to shove, she will fight.

The first thing she will need is to be on a solid financial footing. A job and a salary would be a start. There is nothing wrong with taking some money from Arnav until she can make it on her own. Its her right. Hope she will see it that way. Right now it may feel like rubbing salt on the wounds to take anything from him, but its the practical decision.

We would love to see that impish Khushi who used to climb trees and hang upside down. She is there somewhere. She just needs to come out.

While we are waiting for the next chapter with bated breath, I have come to following conclusions after reanalyzing Arnav's behavior overall -

I realize, maybe looking for valid reasons from Arnav for cheating /hurting Khushi is a wishful thinking.

I will NOT be surprised if he had full-fledged affair and was sleeping with Lavanya when Khushi was in Mumbai in Shantivan in Nov-Dec 2015time frame. I strongly feel this is 200% true.

He may or may not even have valid reason to ignore Khushi’s primal desire so brutally and deny her baby.

I will put my full analysis if this turns out to be true......

So folks be prepared. Anyone agrees / disagrees?? Forum has to be alive and kicking until Arpita posts next "

Detox helped 😅you want to pull me back into the rabbit role.

Babies. I have never written in any comment about why they did not have kids. The couple should want to have one(own or adopted) .. not just one person.

Maybe Arnav's reason (after Anjali's baby is born) is valid, maybe it is not or he needs professional help. But for that the "two" need to have a conversation.( yes she Khushi knows his reason).

The first time we read about it..sounded like a unequal barter.."you will not attend my galas and I will not father a child" ! While she twiddled with her sari aanchal! To me that is apples to oranges comparison.

The way he "spoke" to K in the car after Leher is born is a dicta..feel someone put a knife on his throat..that is not how you both will welcome a new life to this world !. It is suppose to be happy occasion 🙄 his words and body language is enough for a tell.

Affair with Lavanya. To me the reason for emotional bonding with La leading to sleeping with her was his unhappiness with his life with Khushi. (Khushi the problem is gone no need for emotional bonding..affair is over)

Till now we know nothing about what caused the two to drift apart except that K is traditional (even modern folks want kids) and he likes city life.

I am sure there is more. .why solo treks became annual etc. We will get details in the upcoming chapter. Maybe his reasons are valid. Maybe it is not.

Does it matter if he slept with La once or everyday for whatever number of months ? I will quote a comment of mine..."La just put the final nail in the coffin of a troubled marriage"

He never bothered to come and talk to Khushi about it. Even when marriages are over that is basic "respect and dignity" you give to your spouse. In my first two comment to this story was that this is an unequal relationship.

In the last chapter..from his behavior..what you gather is he has literally stone walled her. Someone needs to be a superhuman to break that wall..that says stay away..you are not wanted !

Is it because of his guilt because of his affair? I read it more like he really did not like Khushi's "presense"...nothing to do with his shame or guilt. He wants this marriage to end.

All his behavior is calculated and clinical when it comes to Khushi..give her enough money and she can live the life she wants.

He never factored that once the "irritant" in his life Khushi leaves ...he will not like it! (Two conversations with Payal about divorce and Khushi..his responses are poles apart. One K is still in Mumbai another months later she has left). Talk about irony. His own response to K absence ,in his everyday life is the surprise element he never factored in.

I had termed him a "control freak" a la Musk..maybe it is a common feature of very successful folks. Or maybe this is what happens when relationship break and one moves on.

His conduct is so awful (not just affair..his lack of ownership). The man does not think his wife of a decade deserves any respect or dignity...when he decided to not come out clean with her.

One can only pity the man he has become. For his own sake maybe the fair, honest 24 year old still exist.

When he says to Payal "she will hate me"..I hope it is not because that K decided to remain on pill ..but because of his remorse,realization..how poorly he has treated his wife, companion, support of a decade.

It seems the detox helps only when I don't think about this spineless man😉

Ps. I hope the aware man observed that Khushi also left behind the rare hindi books beside the jewels! She wants nothing of the life that reminds her of him.

You nailed it with your analysis, the last line is out of stadium sixer... This is exactly what I concluded too... And even Learntowrite, Rano and Coderlady had fabulous points pushing my thoughts in same direction...

My thoughts as follows -

Please NOTE this is not the Arnav / ASR from IPKKND, that Arnav was fierce loyal in relationships and loved his family and stuck with them no matter what. This Arnav is a completely different person.

We all got so emotional after Khushi finding out abut Arnav and La’s affair that too on her anniversary, we all missed a major hint. As Rano pointed out, the pics were a dead giveaway of Arnav’s new found passion for La. The pics description - He is holding La in his arms, Arnav’s arms possessively draped over her shoulder. Lavanya in his arms, his lips pressed firmly against hers, hands splayed on the small of her back. Lavanya pushed against a wall and his face buried in her neck. Arnav is doing EVERYTHING, period.

I feel this was an intense sexual affair from his side with whatever minimum emotions required to carry on. Any other conclusion is out the window, it was definitely not ONS justifying his calls / texts to La; the length of affair doesn’t matter. Then why he abruptly broke up is also a very interesting angle considering he was free to do whatever after applying for the divorce. It made me think and find a pattern as to what an astute and extremely talented businessman was trying to pull off….

I was reading Times of India online and came across an interesting article and you can find many such articles. What a coincidence! The article is - "5 Weird ThingsMen Do When They Aren't Happy In Their Relationship" https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/relationships/love-sex/5-weird-things-men-do-when-they-arent-happy-in-their-relationship/photostory/101629418.cms?picid=101629574, Arnav has done all these things in this FanFic. He went into extreme silent /other person doesn’t exist treatment along with extreme case of adultery to annihilate their marriage. All the signs exactly match.

All these years Arnav was the center of Khushi's universe but her demand for a baby made him assume that Khushi's first choice now is baby, not him and hence she was unhappy with him. He became unhappy with this assumption being reality and baby discussions / pressure by Khushi as well as his own parents, but he could avoid meeting his parents which he did... Khushi being staying with him, wasin front of him and ended up facing his wrath as well as his cruel actions. The usual control freak and decision maker Arnav could not make Khushi agree to his demands of 1. not visiting parents to avoid the baby discussions 2. make her accept what he has chosen for them ie. not to have a baby 3. Like / enjoy their new life in Mumbai (Ch 10, In 2011, he tells Khushi he likes their life in Mumbai, and she says she likes her life with him). Her denial to abide by his decisions made him feel extreme anger to the point of becoming a sadist, and he chose to sabotage where it hurts the most. He knew Khushi considered marriage as lifetime relationship (after reading her love note, He thought he had an idea about Khushi’s commitment for this marriage). She had cried when he shared his physical affair before marriage with Anamika; so, boom,he also knew her take on infidelity. No wonder he cheated on Khushi with La first and wanted to use this to get divorce. Believe it or not, now this all makes sense… He is a suave, astute businessman who exactly knew what he was doing. And he was prepared for the no point of return hence he planned to talk /explain Khushi about the divorce. In Prologue, his own thoughts, his 10 years long relationship deserved respectful explanation and not anti-climactic ending. And of course, he was seeking closure for his own sake if not for her...

He is right when he tells La that his divorce has nothing to do with her. He just used La for his physical needs and mainly to hurt Khushi and damage the marriage. He threw La after his purpose achieved and had never planned long term relationship with her, has no respect and love for her. La too is an opportunist wanting to be physical with a married man and hence deserves no credit or sympathy in spite of waiting for 6+ long years….

Bottom line, did Arnav really love Khushi for almost 9+ years, yes, he did. Was he a good person, yes, he was. Just because he was a responsible, great guy before, did the cheating episode happen by mistake, hell no. He knew what he was doing, committed adultery knowingly and was prepared for the consequences. Did he knowingly disrespect his marriage, behaved gruesome with Khushi, yes, he did. Did he purposely cheat to hurt Khushi knowing her thoughts on marriage, its sanctity and damage relationship enough to bail himself out of the marriage, yes, he did. Did he expect to get away knowing she loves him enough to overlook his sins? No, he in fact wanted out of so-called domesticity and did everything to qualify. Was he a womanizer, scoundrel all his life, no, he is not but he turned into the worst, spineless, coward cheating, abusive husband for Khushi. Why he chose not to come clean about La to Khushi, because he was neither guilty during the act nor fully regrets his affair thought he is ready to talk about it now. He still has behaved in character when angry / control freak/ unhappy in relationship.

He panicked when the results of his actions were not as he anticipated; Khushi accepted divorce easily, he started missing, worrying for her beyond words and couldn't sleep, went nuts when he realized someone else can be the center of her universe after her second marriage.

Upon realizing the foundation on which he based his assumptions, perceptions itself was wrong, the righteous man in him feels extremely guilty, small, and shameful now. He wants to amend things for Khushi… Will Arnav come clean to confess his side of blunder as is without making Khushi feel guilty about her choices? Maybe never. Especially this man is selfish enough to care for his own image and since the author has written story from Arnav’s perspective, he will get away with sympathy and bias. The story is not feel good, I agree but Arnav's character is not flawed, he changed over the years, behaved to suit his own agenda.

Does he deserve a second chance? Hell no, absolutely not. How much ever he now acknowledges the trauma he put Khushi through by his actions, doing such level of heinous behavior to one’s own benefit is completely a sin not redeemable.

But the most CRITICAL issue here, will Khushi read through Arnav’s façade now and realize why Arnav did what he did. She has worked in NGO; she has seen enoughvictims and their abuses to recognize Shyam and his mother’s filth. She had seen through Arnav’s pretense of wanting a baby too. Will she remove the blindfold from her eyes to realize Arnav fell out of love, has moved on, involved with Lavanya knowingly, not wish her on anniversaryor say I love you and the crass treatment he gave her purposely to further destroy their relationship, he was calculative, manipulative and toxic beyond measure before applying for the divorce. Will Khushi accept Arnav has become so self-centered that he never looked at things from her perspective, the impact on her of not having baby (being labeled as infertile woman for life is a big stigma in society and especially when she can have a baby), or to explain why he didn't want babies and directly imposed his decision on her without considering her feelings or desire for baby since teenage. Will she recognize the final signs, he offered her heavy alimony to compensate for her years of companionship and reduce his guilt, said Thank you and sorry but never I love you or wished her on anniversary and finally he was ready to courier her things left behind..

Will she remain the naive, the simple girl in love to still overlook? Or practice what she preaches, "Any person is better off without the family that abandoned them so cruelly". Arnav acted as if she didn’t even exist so she should not exist in his life.

Khushi is down and beaten right now but she should realize she deserves every happiness she ever dreamt of but without this man. She must come out of this toxicity around her by moving away from him, be independent, heal herself, marry a good man and have dozens of kids that she loves so much! Zero compromise for her desires especially knowing she is a noble soul who is worth it. She has enough love to give to her new partner and kids! As Arnav says just because they didn't work out, she should not give up anything!

After knowing everything, Khushi still cannot love someone else is a myth, she will never be able to love Arnav properly again is the truth!

Oops just realized I did not answer your question,Swati, on one night stand or more.

Early comments I had said that he being righteous man..he filed for divorce when he slept with Lavanya. Blaming the sorry state of his marriage..that he slept with La..so divorce K.

I also made an assumption that is one time given in the prologue, presumed lover,is mentioned.

But after last chapter and the way he behaved with K when she came back from Lucknow..I am not sure. So maybe Bollybabe and your conjecture is right..that it was an ongoing affair. Ended with K leaving Mumbai.

Bakwas, I am not sure of how long the physical part of the relationship with Lavenya went on. I don’t think he ever felt much for her but I do believe there was a longer component to their relationship that led to the physical part of his adultery. Arnav to me doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that would sleep with a woman only for physical needs. I think he felt some sort of emotional connection which developed over a period of time. This led to him further distancing himself from Khushi, his feelings of guilt, falling out of love with Khushi and his terrible actions concerning the divorce.

I hope Arpita will soon be back to her old feisty self, update this most important chapter and put us out of our misery or maybe add to it.

I feel Arnav won't be able to dump La the way he did if he had some sort of emotional connection with her. In and out, both ways in relationship would have taken him some emotions which we didn't see while he was breaking up with her, he dumped her a party & walked away not caring anything, yuck. Of course he may have had minimal emtoions required for the physical relationship & knew La was desperate too so it worked to his advantage. He did this to punish Khushi in his anger is what I deduced. Read my long comments that I posted few minutes back, I want to be wrong but I feel I am NOT.

If he just wanted divorce, he still could have got it after talking to her knowing she would do anything for his happiness, but he was beyond angry and wanted to do something rash and hurt her... He may have realized how far he went only after reading her love note and he sat there hours thinking about what all he did in last few months before divorce...

Everything else snowballed into the bigger mess with LaMa leaking divorce news, Khushi moving to her native & her second marriage etc. and most importantly this storm knocking Khushi down beyond repair... Did he do it purposely, I feel strongly yes in his anger.. Did he mean to hurt her so much, he completely misjudged this part because of his assumption and thought that Khushi was unhappy with him...

Not only his infidelity I don’t think it will be possible for Khushi to ignore his crass behaviour in the last few months of their marriage.

In ch 9 she called him out for finding about the divorce from his secretary. Even in ch 1 she was hurt and felt disrespected with the fact that Arnav had discussed about his decision to divorce with other people first and not her.

It was not like they were married for few months, it was a decade long marriage, I seriously don’t understand how was it possible for him to just stonewall Khushi, make assumptions on her behalf, even if there were problems and he felt Khushi will not understand at least he should have tried once.

If he was ready to have “The talk” after asking for divorce why not have it before. I don’t know but this reason that Khushi would have adjusted for his beliefs to save the marriage so him deciding for both of their happiness does not sit well with me.

If not love at least she deserved basic respect, she was with him through his most difficult times. You can’t compensate that with money.

We are not allowed to tag mor ethan 10 so I couldn't tag you all...

I am really bad in storytelling or prediction.

I thought they did not have kids..as the two were young, the usual struggles of life. Then it is harder to get pregnant as you get older. I was completely off ..Given babies are a big issue here.😏

The character,Arnav stumps me. We do know that many have an affair to get out of a unhappy union ...I most probably said that in a earlier comment. I do remember saying that he found common grounds with La..both supporting family.

Maybe I am completely wrong and it is more the calculative Arnav you have described. Let see what the reveal tells us about him.

Regarding Khushi. She may be a small town/village girl, maybe unsure of herself..but she understand him pretty well. Her evaluation of him when he lands up in the penthouse with her buaji. She understand the unsaid when it comes to him.

It is not just grace when you say nothing to your parents and Payal that your husband is having an affair. She loved him dearly but still did not push him under the bus. I will not underestimate her strength.

She has faced too many life changing events in a span of 3 months...I am pretty sure she will survive and be ok.

Let see where the story takes her.

My thoughts as follows -

Please NOTE this is not the Arnav / ASR from IPKKND, that Arnav was fierce loyal in relationships and loved his family and stuck with them no matter what. This Arnav is a completely different person.

We all got so emotional after Khushi finding out abut Arnav and La’saffair that too on her anniversary, we all missed a major hint.

We are not allowed to tag mor ethan 10 so I couldn't tag you all...

I totally agree with the whole Khushi part. I don’t see any reason why she cannot move on to someone else. Except that I know whoever she chooses next (Arnav or anyone else), the trust issues will play a huge role. It’s also perfectly fine if she doesn’t choose anyone. Although since she wants children so much, I want her to marry and experience motherhood.

But I read the whole Arnav thing differently from you. He has undoubtedly hurt Khushi and it’s her pain and grief which holds the most of my heart right now, but I don’t think the kind of character that Arnav is here would stoop to such pits. Including throwing away Lavanya after having an affair. He doesn’t come off as someone who would do that. Besides, the way he has been disturbed after Khushi left and his whole rushing to Lucknow also seems different in the story than the comment. To me it doesn’t feel like he was being selfish there. In fact he was holding himself back even though Payal was telling him to ‘play the asshole and get Khushi’. He didn’t rush to Lucknow. He still waited and wanted to give Khushi a chance with a baby. It’s Shyam’s name that makes him realize ‘to what extent has he broken Khushi’. In that particular instant, by some weird play of irony, he was the only one who was worried about Khushi’s well-being. He also didn’t have a problem with Khushi’s marriage to someone else even though it hurt him greatly, he had a problem with Shyam because he knows how much Khushi abhors that guy and what he has done. Plus Aman’s call was also a nod to what kind of a man Shyam really was. Aman called him a nightmare.

Again, these are my assumptions because from Khushi’s pov, his words sound hollow to me. Especially where he said he couldn’t live without her. It angers me. But Khushi also doesn’t know that he had been thinking about her. Been disturbed to an extent of needing to see a therapist. In her head, he had moved on to someone else. She says ‘he knows what he was doing’.

Also, let’s not forget that pictures are from Khushi’s pov. Apart from kissing in the balcony, I think the others can still be taken as purposely planted things. Khushi has also talked about not being able to go to udaan since she can’t deal with ‘pity in their eyes’. I read back. It clearly says Khushi was not ready for a second marriage at all. She did it because her babu Ji was planning to uproot his whole life and move away from their village.

Don’t get me wrong. I am team Khushi. I am just explaining that what you’ve written and what I’ve taken from the story are two completely different things here.

Also the word ‘presumed’ tips me off in this being in favour of my analysis. Why not write lover. Why say presumed at all? Who is presuming? The reader who is just being introduced to the story or Lavanya?

Edit- to me the word presumed is specifically used for readers. Because that’s how we are supposed to see things. Which is why I believe that cannot be the case. Every twist and turn in this tale has been beyond my expectations and that’s why I don’t think Arnav and La are as straightforward as we are thinking. I am almost sure of a twist that will leave us questioning everything. That’s why I am trying to read between the lines.

Folks fall out of love. Cheat. Want a divorce. Nothing right about it but it happens.

But his last chapter behavior, thoughts in prologue .he is not the 24 or 30 year old we had glimpses of. This is a different man that even Khushi observes when he is in the penthouse.

Hope Arpita gets well soon and updates..or we get a punching bag to get us rid of our anger 😊
