In my opinion, Shraddha is liked for fair skin, even teeth and smile or innocent or vulnerable characters she plays.

And initially she got too much attention and was praised too much for her looks as people were in awe how could Shakti Kapoor's daughter look like this.

She is indeed good looking for Shakti Kapoor's daughter. I mean look at her dad and look at her. No resemblance.

Earlier there used to be memes and pics comparing dad and daughter and wondering how did she manage to look nothing like him.

I mean if the comparison is with Shakti then yes, she’s pretty. 😆 However, overall she’s very average looking. She has a pretty smile but that’s the most I can say about her looks. I also don’t think she has any screen presence and her unbearable acting doesn’t help either.

And kill me for this but I have NEVER found Vyjanthimala and Waheeda Rehman beautiful.

They were good actors, great dancers. But beauty? Nope.

I also feel it is purely due to nostalgia that some old fashioned people have now begun to overrate Nutan and Nargis' looks also. Otherwise they are fairly average lookers.

I read somewhere that Nalini Jaywant was once voted as most beautiful actress. LMAO! I always felt like looked like an aunt and was overweight. Only her large eyes were good and huge figure and probably a reason why public liked her then.

I never got hype for Reena Roy either as an actor or as a looker. Nor do I think Mumtaz had any quality be it talent or looks or sex appeal. Highly overrated.

Finally, kill me, but I never thought Sharmila Tagore was beautiful. Way overrated and her style of speaking was irritating AF. She would have been forgotten if not for films with Rajesh Khanna who was wildly popular then. I daresay Mumtaz and Sharmila owe their survival and remembrance to Rajesh Khanna and I bet no one else has seen their other work with other actors as much. I never found her hot in bikini either. I find her artificial and fake.

THATS HER NAME! I knew I was missing someone. I will never ever understand the hype over Waheeda. She’s probably a lovely lady and all, but her at 20 still looks the same whether she was 40, 60, or 80.

I agree with you. I am just offering you context of why and how Shraddha got awe inducing reactions to her looks when she started out.

Everyone was like 'Is this indeed biological daughter of Shakti Kapoor?'

Otherwise I agree she is average both in looks and acting. Her acting or choice of scripts never improved and I think she worsened her face with latest surgeries.

I get the appeal of looking like "not Indian" and i feel that is their only ticket to fame, barring Hrithik's phenomenal dance skills. I feel more than looks people, particularly indians are enamored when someone looks or is not of their native. There's this deep insecurity that makes every fair skinned, blue eyed person seem the epitome of beauty for indians. Bottom line, in both cases Aishwarya and Hrithik get so much adulation for their looks because they look distinctly un-indian. It's fair skin and blue eyes baby!

Thankyou! I feel they are way too overhyped on this forum
