When we talk about the D3 stuff, the gang had chemistry at times, but they sometimes fell so flat that it felt like it was recitation of lines. Similarly for romantic pairings also. The only time I feel like chemistry isn't subjective is in most power struggle scenarios (i.e. boss-employee, teacher-student), especially non-romantic. I think for romance especially, dynamic and chemistry need to mix well to have a successful pairing. You're right in that dynamics alone deffo can't carry everything if the chemistry is shit and vice-versa (read: KR)

I feel like a lot of the gang's chemistry depended on the actors' own friendship, which is not always ideal because as you said, over time, it did fall flat. And I do agree, a couple can't really survive on chemistry alone, there needs to be some sort of dynamic there.
