I am not commenting further on BD as I don't want to give spoilers. Ridhi and Barun share a nice bond. I started watching Asur but it's a dark show and not my type. I stopped after the 1st ep. But I think that it's a good thriller. I am in a space where I want to watch feel good shows.

Are you aware of the ruckus around a Pak show called Tere Bin? I binge-watched 42 eps I think and then gave up once there was a hint of MR. I feel sorry for the fans of this show. They are being tortured with a very toxic storyline. Why are shows promoting unhappiness? People who really love each other don't make the other one suffer. There's a major disconnect between reality and what is being show on TV.

I watched Badtameez dil too , I also used to like Barun during IPK days long back..😆so i decided to follow up on this one.. It was good in beginning few episodes.. and then by the end of it.. i thought they made a khichdi out of it.. I think makers wanted it to make like Ross-Rachael story from friends.. but it turned out something else..

They messed up the ending. Ross and Rachel were never this messed up. I accept that all relationships have issues but they ended the show by showing the leads even more broken up than they were at the start. I felt that Liz didn't forgive Karan. She got with him but on her own messed up terms and conditions.

I skipped and just watched the episode where titlie left the mandap and met the ML -- it made me realize how much I have missed all these tropes -- falling and staring into the eyes. slow motion turn of the faces, chemistry sizzling in the air, the dupatta burning (because it is a stupid garment that needs to be tossed), back and forth banter and then the leads walking off with a great backdrop in the back -- so much fun. am all ready to be cheesy. bring it on. KA has removed any need for realism in me -- I don't care. if I want realism, I will watch some true crime drama. 🤣

M, I just want to watch a good romantic story. Like you, I don't mind the cliches. Fall for no reason, catch her, stare in each other's eyes, give us a lovely background music....we watch shows to escape reality and have a good time. I don't want to be lectured or reminded of the harsh realities of life. I want to dream.

I have a theory 🤣

PHs don't want a happy audience. We keep on tuning towards new shows to find that spark of happiness. Weeks and sometimes months are spent waiting for that one moment we imagine will make us feel happy and fulfilled...but the same twists will be introduced where the villains win. We keep projecting ourselves in new characters, and end up realising that these characters are even worse off. There's no profit for PHs in our happiness.

The situation is even worse when it comes to songs. I was driving with my mum yesterday, and 90's songs were playing on the radio. She said that such songs are not made nowadays. M, I barely know the lyrics of new songs. I mostly sing old songs when I play Antakshari!🤣
