I never managed to watch the first gadar fully to begin with

Felt too dated in the era of Lagaan and dil chahta hai

Sunny is a BJP MP. Many such films are being readied before the 2024 elections. If power is used to arm twist exhibitors to give screens..or if it's made tax free in BjP ruled states..or depending on content,tickets are distributed then.. we may have a Kashmiri files, Kerala story BO result.

Gadar can't be compared to Ghayal because Gadar is an iconic and historic blockbuster hit which everyone has watched while nobody today even knows what is Ghayal.

Fans don't make a movie hit or flop. It's the neutral audience that decides. They don't even know what is Ghayal forget it being a cult. Btw which one is it? The 2.5 kg hand one or the date on date on date one?

If they do it well it will be a hit because Gadar is a cult movie and people will watch part 2.

Right wave is sweeping across the world. So is the case in India. I'd say ultra jingoistic is where the majority urban populace in India are at. There have been a slew of war and patriotic movies that have done well in recent times. So who knows, they might hit gold.

Do you watch television? Ghayal plays regularly on movie channels but Gadar hardly does. Neutral audience also remembers Ghayal more than Gadar. 2.5 kg hand one is Ghayal. Date on date on date one is Damini.

Edit: Now I'm realizing. 2.5 kg dialogue is also from Damini.

Gadar 2 seems to be an odd one. I can just as easily see the boycott gang going both hard for and against it. I think the original propagators of the boycott gang have lost control on their own beast. Depends on which way the WhatsApp forwards flow.

Regardless, I do think Animal should just move a week forward. That little extra benefit from these holidays is just not worth the screen sharing.

I don't think so but the director and everyone involved seem to be optimistic. Gadar was a massive hit but it was a long time ago, and moviegoing audiences are usually in their 20s. However the draw is the name of the movie itself - will a franchise be able to survive a new movie with a famous IP (Animal)?
