Hello all!

Like most of you all, I have started watching this ghkkpm drama because of strongly written female character. I really was looking forward to watch a female lead in Indian show who carries herself with dignity , self respect and challenges traditional stereotype that women are emotional, weak, dependent etc but was disappointed.

I haven't watched many Indian movies with such strong female character. Would love to watch if you suggest any movie.

What is the most powerful and well written female characters you have loved watching in Indian movies? And what did you like/admire about them?

Thanks soo much for the tag

I haven't watched much of itv

But

Nandini Murthy from Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan

One of the most well written and consistent characters of itv

It's a college romance show but it's written sooo well

It's a remake of Korean drama

Love Sharon from D3

She was one of the first women I remeber watching as kid back in middle school who spoke her mind wasn't affair to demand and command amd take charge of things

Her partner was soooo cute too Swayam

Alia from Beintehaa

This is Harshad arora show

But that garl was also very very strong and didn't take bullyshit from anyone including her partner who was not good to her in starting

Loved how she choose herself and her respect over him

He had too imporve and work on himself and had a very very hard stuff to work through before alia went back to him

That's about it

These are the only shows I watched

Recently watched Dahaad and loved it.

Also Delhi crime is very good S1> S2 but I liked both.

I enjoyed Guilty minds with Shriya Pilgaonkar

I have not watched any ITV shows that have been consistent without ruining the story. I liked EKDV s1 , Kuch rang season 1, Naamkaran post leap, and ghum due to the story and FLs but they kinda ruined all the shows after a point or ended it weirdly

so my recs are all web shows, not TV shows

I am watching BALH3 now and its too soon to say but I am liking Priya. I liked Priya of BALH2 but the show honestly was a let down due to overdone triangle stuff there also

Also Katha is pretty good too but its not the most engaging show.

Thanks for suggesting. I'll watch them.

I loved Katha ankahee due to strong women roles in that show but now stopped watching as I found it to be slow paced. I'll binge-watch later.

Ah yes alia from beintehaa. She's the only female lead I remember who wasn't annoyingly mahaan/ self-sacrificing or prone to lecturing or weak. She's more real and relatable than other female leads.

There's also avni of naamkarann, but avni had a very depressing life so she had a lot of emotional issues, but she was intelligent and strong nonetheless compared to other female leads.

Can't forget durga of ek haseena thi too. Smart and calculative.

Geet had a strong female lead character without being ruined. EHT had a strong female character but haven’t watched it yet. ITV rarely ever has strong FL. Even if they start good, they are ruined later. Sony TV is some exception.
