For me, it's almost like they're writing him hypocritical on purpose, so out of touch on purpose. I'm just assuming that because how else can writers justify the dialogues + acting (i.e. angry-disgusted delivery vs. angsty-angry). If they think Virat is right based on his own perspective, then these people need fresh eyes for the story. His dialogues and delivery make him more irredeemable every episode. Each episode is worse than the last one sometimes. How could they think we'd root for the ML then? His hurt was shown but it was not done in a sorrowful way to garner sympathy, IMO.
