-LMAO so THAT goes really well. 😆 This book is much more funny than TWNGO...like the wordplay is insane. Not to mention little bits of Lucy and Sloane around the book. He came around much stronger than last book, practically wanted Nash & Lina to stay the heck away until the very end. Couldn't wait for either Nash or Lina to return the favor in the next book.

The wall of Winnipeg even though it was a massive slow burn, I loved it. The tension and build up was great. It was my first from MZ and I went on to read her other books. All of them slow burns but such a great plot and build up to the relationship stage. I loved the epilogue of this one. Aiden was my book boyfriend for months before I found someone that topped the list. That was Dante Salvatore from Anti heroes in love series by Giana Darling. That man allowed himself to go to jail and used it as an opportunity to get revenge on his woman’s ex-boyfriend who treated her like crap.

- It was a good read. The slow burn just makes you want to scream in frustration sometimes but overall good read.

If you’ve liked Dreamland billionaires then you will enjoy Mile High Club series. I found the second book so funny, the antics of the children on meeting Tristan was hilarious.

I did notice the Final Offer paperback being a lot more plump than the first two. I would take a thicker book over some authors splitting one story into two or three books especially when it is not even good. Like the Crossfire series. It started off good then after the second, she did just fillers and didn't close all the loopholes. And the timeline was like 6-7 months pushed together in 5 books 😂 My biggest reading regret to date.

- It's just that Cal had other problems above his father. In rest of the books it was just Declan and Rowan trying to complete their inheritance clause, but here Cal had to battle his addiction, find a place in the company and try to win his love back because he had already screwed it up in the past. The book is mad funny and at times it will pain you to see how everyone treats Callahan because from Declan to Zahra all of them have a perception that he's not serious for life and needs to grow up. He steps up to the challenge when Alana and Cami are about to leave...but during that I didn't like some places where she calls him out on his addiction, it is very realistic because that is what people do and still very heartbreaking. Just longer this book. 😳

Zade Meadows does make you question yourself for loving him. But it’s so worth accepting that a part of you is corrupt I did a little self reflection about myself after the second book wondering if I was normal because I am supposed to be triggered and find this dark. I felt it was darker than the first however it wasn’t like dark where I’d had to take a breather or stop reading. I went searching for something darker. 😂 I don't think I will find anyone remotely close to topping Zade Meadows. He was just *chefs kiss*

I finished the first book of Miles High Club today morning, like at 5am. Yes I was up reading at 5am and YES I read this in one sitting.

Started late afternoon and finished it in between distractions of mortal tasks.

I laughed so hard at certain times, my God, imagine being hysterical at 3am, must look possessed. But the CAMPING TRIP. OMG. I can't with the camping trip they had, complete comedy of errors...

The book had a good pace, could use a bit more work on descriptions though and initially didn't like how Jameson was treating Emily in Boss man mode but he groveled in the end and we all are suckers for a good groveling.

Decent book.

Decent book.

Yay! Glad you liked it. I did enjoy stopover, but my favourite is the second book so far. Tristan's book is so much better. He is my favourite brother so far. TL Swan is great with the comedic scenes. I'm going to be reading the third soon and some have said thats better than the first two. And third ones tend to be the greatest.

I finally finished things we hide from the light! Review will be up shortly. OMDz I loved loved that book. It was so funny. And I do think it was a build up for Sloane and Lucian's story. I'm in love with them already. I love Sloane and Lucian's, their scenes are like fireworks going off.

This was my second Penny Reid book. I should have started from the first book of this series but the title captured my attention and I have read one of PR’s books before, maybe around 2017 and I remember I enjoyed it. I don’t know why I haven’t picked up more of her books. When I read this, I knew I was going to start the series from the beginning and read all of the books.

Kat’s cousin is after her and wanting to get her checked into a mental institute to get a hold of her inheritance as her guardian. Now she must do something drastic and quick to stop that. So, she first asks her friend Steven, but he’s got a new boyfriend.

Now the idea is to ask Dan, the security man. The man she’s been thinking about for 2 years, secretly admiring and maybe loving.

I loved Kat. She has been through a lot and she’s trying her best. The background with her parents and her past, the way she’s overcome all of that just makes you see how much hard work she’d put in to change her life around. She is a multi-billionaire who’s doing a normal job and away from the limelight. Not everyone knows she’s the heiress.

Given what she’s been through, it is understandable. I really did feel for Kat, the pressure of being an heiress, the money, the fame that comes with it, the obligations she has as the only daughter of her father and the obligation to her father’s business just makes it seem like she has a lot on her shoulders.

She must think of everything twice, thrice before she does any actions. She’s been hesitant and afraid to do anything that might seem out of the ordinary because she’s always been afraid of showing signs of MH. Her mother had been diagnosed and she’s always been disregarded by her father as he seemed to think she’s going to be diagnosed one day as well. I did detest her father, I don’t care that the man is on his death bed, I hated how he’d treated her and the path she’d chosen because of his negligence.

I have not read the previous stories so I’m not sure how she’s been portrayed but here she seems sweet, quiet and innocent. She eats a lot of cheese, especially when she’s stressed and she’s always in her head. Contemplating and mulling things over before she’d say or do something. When she’s stressed out, just give the woman some cheese. I loved her internal thoughts before she comes out with saying what she wants to say.

Dan the security man. He seems broody and all serious from his job. But pull him out of it, he had an easy, going personality and I found him to be quite hilarious. Some of things he pondered and even said aloud just make it funnier. I loved his mother, Eleanor O’Malley. His scenes with his mother were funny, especially when he’d forgotten her birthday and wondered how to come up with excuses. When he’d finally made the call, the way Eleanor informed him that she thought he was lying in a ditch somewhere and had Father Matthew on standby to give him his last rites because he’d forgotten to call was just too funny.

When I read the background on his family, I sympathised with Dan. He himself has had a disaster of a childhood, despite his mother’s efforts of raising them wonderfully. His cheating father, then his older brother (step brother - spawn of his father with mistress) being so wayward and hurting the family over the years. He should’ve been looking up to his elder brother, Seamus should have been a role model instead he had dragged Dan down and Dan ended up going to prison and doing time for something he’d done when he’d been young. Dan changed and he just turned into this inspiration.

“I swear Seamus was conceived by @nal sex. There’s no other explanation for him being such an asshole.”

I loved getting his perspective and he is equally fond of Kat or in his words, Kit Kat. He’s been crushing on her but was crushed when she’d told him during a drunk stupor, she didn’t know how to do monogamy or something, he took that to mean she’s polyamorous.

Since then, he’s been disappointed, he wasn’t against it, but he wasn’t into polygamy.

In the next moment, his mouth hooked upward and he pushed away from the wall, sauntering toward me. Instinctively, I took two steps back.

“Kit-Kat.” He wagged a finger at me, like I’d been naughty. “You liked me.”

“You liked me, you just said so,” I volleyed back, the words sounding like an accusation.

“I did.” His grin grew and his voice deepened. “And I do.”

Oh.

Okay.

Here we go.

It was so hilarious when it came down to the court where they registered the marriage and Kat found this out. The scenes were hilarious. Especially when they’re kissing and tended to go overboard, and Steven had to tap Dan’s shoulder to remind them the minister is getting late to go pick up his granddaughter.

Dan’s use of the word Fck all the time. He is so hilarious. He made a whole sentence using that word as the subject, object, verb and adjective. 😂 The things he’d be willing to do for Kat, even if it was some kink of hers to see him zip tied to a metal chair and his hands cuffed and eating pancakes – which is not her kink but a situation he’d ended up in.

“I told you we should have used the taser.”

“But then he would have shit his pants,” John motioned to my pants. “Look at those pants. Those are nice pants.”

“Yeah,” I agreed, “I don’t want to shit these pants. I like these pants. The pockets are deceptively roomy.”

“I said, you fckfaced shitstain,”—his words were low, slow, measured— “get the fck away from her, or I will fcking fckily fck you the fck up.”

I stared at Dan, my lips parting in wonder. He’d just used some variation of the F-word as a noun, verb, adverb, and adjective all in one sentence. I didn’t know whether to be mortified or impressed.”

The story had a lot going on and it was such a fun read. I did switch between my kindle and audible app since I was listening to it as well. Dan’s chapters in Audible, narrated by Stephen Dexter made it funny. Especially when he did the internal monologues of Dan.

I loved the knitting group, the things they’d discuss was just funny. I am so looking forward to reading the series from the beginning and reading each book.

Everyone needs a friend who can bring them tears and abdominal pain with funny stories.

I will say this started out slow. I started the book, liked Lina and Nash but I was pulled away around chapter 3 with some other books in between. I felt it started off slow. I bought the audiobook as I did feel I’d get distracted because it took me some time to even get through the first 3 chapters, so I started listening to the book. That made it more enjoyable for me and was easier to stick to, especially when I finally picked up the paperback wanting to read faster and find out what happens next.

First let me start off with saying, as with the previous book, that cover is so gorgeous! I loved the bookmark for the first one and wished I could’ve gone to another book signing where Lucy Score is so I can grab the second book’s bookmarks as well. I am so glad to have met LS, she is such an incredible and wonderful woman. I did have her sign a whole page of bookplates so I can stick them onto the books if I didn't get a chance for her to sign my new books as well 😂

Lucy Score has not failed to impress me with any of her books. I loved the vibes of small-town romance, the idea of everyone knowing everybody, helping out, the hot gossip, the funny meddling neighbours. It just sounds so fun and sweet especially when it comes to the helping part.

Nash and Lina’s story was great.

“Congratulations, Daddy. It’s a girl,” Lina said. She slid her phone out of its sleeve and snapped a picture of me. “Stop,” I ordered gruffly. “Don’t worry. I cropped it at the waist so no one will see what kind of weaponry you’re packing,” she teased.

“Your gun is digging into me.” “That’s not my gun,” I said through clenched teeth. Her mouth curved wickedly. “I know.”

I loved Lina, she was independent, fierce and funny. She didn’t take any bullshit from anyone. I loved how she’d stood up for herself and others. I did feel for her especially when she's been smothered due to her heart condition throughout her life. I understood her choices of wanting to keep a distance and not tell her poor, crazily obsessed parents about the life she'd chosen.

“He made me feel like I was special … He made me feel like he needed me. No one’s ever needed me.”

I loved how Nash was, the depiction of his struggles after the shooting from the last book, the dealing with depression and PTSD, panic attacks were touched on and handled quite nicely. Nash as the chief made me swoon. The way he carries out his duty and actions things was amazing. I loved how deep his love for his community is and how much he wants to change the town and keep it safe.

“Whenever you’re close, everything is better. The closer you are, the easier I breathe … You take away the dark, the cold. And you remind me what it’s like to want to be here.”

I think I need a picture of Nash's ass! 😂 Oh gosh, him getting a tattoo for Lina on his ass. Lucian was only kidding but the fact that he thought that was a great idea. I loved Lina's reaction to it. 😂

“Why did you provoke me?” she asked.

“You make me feel things. And after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something – even if it’s anger or adrenaline – is better than the nothing.”

I was hesitating for a second wondering how the two exes remained friends and how it would work out, but reading about Lina and Knox, their friendship and admiration for each other was touching. It is still a little weird but Lucy Score made it work!

The addition of Knox, Naomi, Waylay, Waylon, Sloane, Lucian makes this all the more warming. I still love Knox and Naomi more at this point. They are my favourite, but I have a feeling Lucian and Sloane will take the spot when the third book comes out. Scenes that had them had me on the edge and I was grinning and am so looking forward to their book.

“You went to Lucian for advice? That guy is one typewriter away from The Shining. I mean, it’s great that he owns his fcked-upness, but he’s the guy you go to for stock tips or to make someone disappear. He’s not the guy you go to for advice on women.”

I don’t really pay much attention to the ages as that seems irrelevant to me but I was surprised to learn that Angeline was 37 and Nash was 40 something. Some scenes have them acting so immature, and I questioned whether anyone would really act this way. It didn’t bug me or such, but it was surprising to me.

I do think the book could’ve been shorter, there were some irrelevant things that did not need to be added to this. It could’ve done without. Some sub plots did drag on unneccessarily. So that's the only thing I had an issue with. If I had sat reading, it would've taken me 4-5 days possibly to finish it because I would have stopped and started with some boring bits. Thankfully with the switch between audible and paperback, I had finished it across 2 days.

That EPILOGUE though. I loved it. I loved reading about Knox and Naomi. My heart tore in those few pages and Lucy Score put it back together within minutes.

But bring on Lucifer Lucian and Sloane now please!!!

Lucian deposited Sloane next to Naomi. “Move from this spot and we’ll have problems,” he warned, looming over her with a finger in her face. “Bite me, Lucifer.”

We all need a picture of Nash's ass! lmao...and it better have that tattoo. The jokes were INSANE in this one. If TWNGO had much more angst because Knox had a longer third act breakup TWHFTL had a lot of funny in it, sometimes I couldn't even put a straight face.

I loved the scene where he shows up at her door, in the middle of a panic attack and then she helps him anyway but the next morning she's out the door and asks him to leave as soon as possible.

Listen Lucian and Sloane were my favourite since the first book. I SMELLED Enemies-To-Lovers and was already in that couple's personal space like CRAZY. There are few insane moments between them, when the girls go drinking in the bar and when he tries to make Sloane stay back when she's anxious about Naomi disappearing...I knew the energy had me in a chokehold.

So the AGES of these people in Knockemout...it is such a turnoff! Honestly that is the only flaw I find, the ages, they act like late twenties to early 30s at best...no way this energy is 40s. That is a flaw...in my head every guy is somewhere from 30-35 and every girl is 30-32. At best.

So my imaginations for Lucian's book have already started lol...I have this theory "Lucian-Sloane already were in love, something happened he went to jail and then did something stupid to make her stay away from him because he isn't good for her and she bought the act but in reality none of them moved on from each other...them being neighbors I am expecting MANY climbing through her window and sleeping next to each other scenes and if I don't get them I'll be mad. The epilogue for Nash / Lina suggest something DRASTIC happens to Sloane and I am SOOOO UP FOR IT! Maybe it's Duncan Hugo's Dad who has something to do with it considering Lucian has agreed to share his resources with the cops.

Now listen Nash has been so obvious about Lucian never being into fist fights and using his hands even when it gets too much, he mentioned that after the whole prison debacle Lucian never used his fists, so what if he made a promise to Sloane or something...AND HEAR ME OUT - What if he actually goes batshit crazy in his book's climax because someone literally hurt Sloane so bad. I mean she has a scar and all!"

My god I'm so excited for this book at this point the only reason I'm living is for Lucian and Sloane's book!

I loved the scene where he shows up at her door, in the middle of a panic attack and then she helps him anyway but the next morning she's out the door and asks him to leave as soon as possible.

Listen Lucian and Sloane were my favourite since the first book. I SMELLED Enemies-To-Lovers and was already in that couple's personal space like CRAZY. There are few insane moments between them, when the girls go drinking in the bar and when he tries to make Sloane stay back when she's anxious about Naomi disappearing...I knew the energy had me in a chokehold.

So the AGES of these people in Knockemout...it is such a turnoff! Honestly that is the only flaw I find, the ages, they act like late twenties to early 30s at best...no way this energy is 40s. That is a flaw...in my head every guy is somewhere from 30-35 and every girl is 30-32. At best.

Yes, it didn’t make sense that these lot were in their late 30s and close to mid 40s. I’m turning 30 this year and even I wouldn’t act this immature and I’ve been called immature by so many 😂

Quite a few have called him Mafia Boss Lucian 😂 I really don wonder what we’re going to learn about Lucian. And Sloane. I can’t wait until September, I think. Another 6 months remaining!! Can’t wait for the third.
