With the OTT platform now audience evaluates whether to watch a movie on OTT or in the cinema. so what kind of movies would pull the audience to cinema?
Action movies and biopics tend to draw larger movie audience? Pathan drishyam brahmastra etc
Remakes are not doing well.
yeah need to study new dynamics
I can’t be bothered to sit 3 hrs in a cinema. Rather watch on TV where I can pause and watch in installments and fast forward unappealing scenes.
Akshay may be achieving success with churning movies in volumes, and he seems to like that.
But he also has to be aware of 'the quality' of the movies for cinema-money.
What makes the audience go to the movies? Good question...
Audiences obviously still have their preferences - be it stars, genre or content.
There were people to watch Shehzada and Selfiee but the interest wasn't high enough for the high prices (tickets... and popcorn and drinks).
If I would not love to watch SRK (and Pathaan) on big screen (in the magical darkness of a theatre) that much, do you really think that I would pay this often 16,50 euros (=1.445,00 rupees) to do so? Well, I didn't buy popcorn or a drink in the theatre...I took a small bottle of water and some chips with me...I've my priorities 😉 ('normally' tickets are less expensive and we have Tuesday as an extra-cheap 'movie day', but Pathaan is an Indian more-than-2-hours movie, hence the price is almost the double...which was the same with Shehzada and Selfiee...they are treated like 'event'-movies).
Btw., the Saturday Pathaan evenig show was still 2/3 full (about 80 seats of 120 occupied).
Selfiee at Day-3 may be still hard to really fully predict for now.

i think this is the biggest disaster among superstar movies
i think this is the biggest disaster among superstar movies
With a budget of 130-140 cr and expected lifetime to be 20cr..this incurs a 120cr loss, beating the likes of Bombay Velvet and 83. Biggest disaster indeed and biggest loss making movie ever..distributors ki halat ka tou mat pocho..robbed!!
I agree (although I don't like it despite the blue thumbs-up).
I suppose it will change some ways to go...
