It is still not killed though. They have anti password sharing practices in full swing for subscribers in Chile, Peru and Costa Rica, Latin American countries where the opposition is not at the scale of US. They also haven't abandoned the idea of tweaking and installing the same in US just yet. This stunt was just to save face after the uproar. They're gonna sneakily unroll this plan sometime soon again. Giant corporations are forever above public perception otherwise Amazon, Meta wouldn't have been standing till now 😆

North American market generates most revenue for Netflix though. The rest are smaller markets. They definitely have to care about perception, here. If they pull that stunt here, it will be dead upon arrival and then it won’t be long before it goes the way of the dinosaurs ala Hollywood videos and Blockbuster. Especially with so many competitors around.

Be as it may, Netflix is still the biggest OTT subscription around even by market share and thr countries it has been able to tap which other services havent been able to, it's a behemoth like Amazon is to e commerce space. They are not gonna take it rolling down. My bet is they will introduce the anti password sharing policy in phased manner and not dump it all at once like they did now. Competition is sustained because it produces the largest number of originals watched, and is not concerned with losing revenue as it already is with password sharing. Seeing that Netflix literally drove the likes of blockbuster out of business, it's got nothing to worry about.
