Ajay Devgn-led Dhamaal 4 has delivered a strong start at the box office, emerging as one of the biggest Hindi film openers of 2026. Directed by Indra Kumar, the fourth installment of the comedy franchise has generated significant momentum during its first weekend, crossing Rs 65 crore net in India and touching Rs 92 crore worldwide within three days of release.

The film's performance has once again highlighted the audience's growing interest in large-scale comedy entertainers. Following the successful theatrical run of Akshay Kumar's Welcome to the Jungle, another comedy-driven franchise has managed to attract crowds across multiplexes and mass centres alike. With no major Hindi release competing against it, Dhamaal 4 has capitalised on a largely open marketplace.

Collections Rise Sharply Through The Weekend

The film witnessed steady growth over all three days. After collecting Rs 14 crore on Friday from 10,669 shows across India, the film jumped to Rs 22.50 crore on Saturday from 10,954 shows. Sunday proved to be the strongest day so far, with collections climbing to Rs 28.50 crore from 11,481 shows nationwide.

The three-day domestic total now stands at Rs 65 crore net. The upward trend suggests that family audiences and franchise followers contributed heavily to the weekend surge.

International markets also added to the film's tally. The overseas collection currently stands at Rs 14 crore. Combined with its gross domestic earnings of Rs 78 crore, the film's worldwide total has reached Rs 92 crore. If weekday numbers remain stable, the film is expected to move beyond the Rs 100 crore global mark shortly.

Surpasses Several 2026 Releases

One of the most notable aspects of Dhamaal 4's opening weekend is how quickly it has overtaken the lifetime collections of several films released this year.

Within three days, the comedy has moved ahead of the entire domestic runs of Alpha (Rs 53 crore), Main Vaapas Aaunga (Rs 61.26 crore), Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (Rs 50.46 crore), Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (Rs 48.20 crore), O' Romeo (Rs 59.90 crore) and Mardaani 3 (Rs 53.06 crore).

The film has also secured its place among the year's highest-grossing Hindi releases. At present, it trails only Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge (Rs 1108.90 crore), Border 2 (Rs 341.70 crore), Bhooth Bangla (Rs 168.27 crore), Welcome to the Jungle (Rs 126.66 crore) and Cocktail 2 (Rs 91.30 crore).

Among comedy films released in 2026, Dhamaal 4 currently ranks behind only Bhooth Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle.

Franchise Records And Ajay Devgn's Sequel Streak

The latest installment has also delivered the biggest opening weekend in the history of the Dhamaal franchise.

Its three-day domestic total of Rs 65 crore has exceeded the opening weekend figures of Total Dhamaal, which had collected Rs 62.40 crore. Earlier entries in the series posted significantly lower starts, with Double Dhamaal earning Rs 22.78 crore during its opening weekend and the original Dhamaal collecting Rs 8 crore.

The worldwide opening weekend performance has already moved beyond the entire global run of the first Dhamaal, which concluded its theatrical journey at Rs 50.73 crore worldwide. The next benchmark for the film is Double Dhamaal's lifetime worldwide total of Rs 70.54 crore, a figure it has already surpassed comfortably.

For Ajay Devgn, the success continues a trend built around franchise properties. Dhamaal 4 has opened ahead of De De Pyaar De 2 (Rs 47.75 crore opening weekend) and Son of Sardaar 2 (Rs 24.75 crore opening weekend). However, Raid 2 remains his strongest sequel opener in recent years with Rs 71.25 crore.

The film's immediate challenge will arrive on July 16 when Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey enters cinemas across India. Until then, Dhamaal 4 enjoys a clear run at the box office, and its first major milestone of Rs 100 crore worldwide appears firmly within reach.
