Prerna, Swetha, please don't give up on the thread...we can try to ignore the spamming banter and the Zeal & Co didn't come anymore (if I'm not mistaken, they've done another "avoid" thread to have talks with like-minded people...I assume as I didn't enter the thread).

And no, her skin show had a purpose...she had to attract Pathaan. At the first view of the song, I got the feeling (and also wrote it), that she did an act for a male gaze. I only was mistaken with the assumption that one doesn't see the person who she was meant to attract thinking of Jim. Indeed, one doesn't see Jim (who isn't the target but the orderer and observer).

The story was good but found many flaws like:

1. Some action scenes of Shahrukh were OTT. The gun was moving like it does in video games.

2. Deepika's character was confusing. First she betrays Pathaan and then regrets after getting to know what it is. Why would she help a terrorist like Jim who plans attacks on countries and then back out proving to be ? How illogical!

3. Indian scientists are shown to blue clueless about that virus in a device and open it without taking precautions and then die.

4. Shahrukh appoints a team of members who were given early retirement due to injuries but none have any input except 1-2 dialogues. Got to know Amit Sadh was one officer but he died before saying anything. It was Shahrukh as the only team member. lol

5. The last scene like always came to the last 2 seconds to save the plane. He gets stabbed but is able to have energy to fight and even kill John later to say the famous dialogue.

on 1. : Yes, there was imperfection (but personally, I didn't find it bothering).

on 2. : She was a team member of Outfit X (Ex-ISI agent) and may have been already part of other assignments Jim had been payed for. As Jim was the only one to know the nature of "Raktbeej" she wasn't aware about the damage planned. When she got to know it, she deserted Outfit X and Jim whom she viewed now as blinded by hate. the members of Outfit X are mercenaries who don't work as soldiers but as terrorists.

on 3 : They didn't guess that the virus wasn't in the innermost cell but already in the cladding.

on 4 : the J.O.C.R. members certainly had different assignments...some worked inside the J.O.C.R. premises, others may have had other tasks outside...I think, Raza was the only 'partner' assigned to be with Pathaan. In general, agents work on their own with only assigned contact persons (like well shown in Mission Majnu).

on 5 : stopping an explosion/bomb/rocket last second(s) is a common plot device. Here, the novelty was that Pathaan had - as last possibility - to risk his life by grabbing the device to press the red button in a way Jim wouldn't assume a ruse but a kind of last straw. We know that Pathaan got stabbed and Jim sneered about that - apparently - futile try (we are meant to think like Jim)...and bingo...we (almost) all were wrong...

Btw, Pathaan doesn't really kill Jim...he makes him doing a loooooong fall...(how appropriate)

Deepikas character was rolling around on a bed at one stage trying to seduce pathaan. I think that's what the problem was.. they made her into a bond girl when she should've been like blackwidow from marvels instead.

bold: of course was Jim there in the pool...waiting for Pathaan following Rubina and coming to the pool where he was taken captive ("the hunter becoming hunted").

As for Rubina trying to seduce Pathaan like a Bond girl...not really...Pathaan was NOT meant to be like James Bond but like in-no-way-young-anymore, quite rugged and unstylish, and rather 'overchallenged' with a sexual offer at that moment.
